The company’s systems are opaque (salaries are paid late); it is essentially a family business that plays favorites (the two senior managers only treat their own people well); the pay is pitifully low (someone’s salary only became NT$30,000 after a 50% raise); the employee meals even give everyone diarrhea; managers blame frontline employees for their own mistakes; they lie to subordinates as if everyone were an idiot (the newsworthy mullet fish incident); they are very good at painting grand visions, but we have not even seen a crumb of the pie (from saying in May that they would send us to Hong Kong for training, it is now almost August and they still have not even applied for the visas); there is a wide gap in the abilities of coworkers (you may have to do work that someone else should be doing because they are slacking off); the managers are extremely incompetent (some are even worse than you at handling things); they will help you plan your future (but it is all just talk).
The amount of leave is normal for the food and beverage industry (actually, it's quite generous).
Supervisors often evade responsibility, and there are bad practices such as delayed salary payments (including repeatedly failing to provide pay stubs on time)...
There are coordination problems between the front and back of house, and information is often not shared properly, making it more difficult for frontline staff to do their work!!
The issues raised are often not taken seriously, making it difficult to obtain solutions—let alone good answers...
Overall, I am extremely disappointed... The company has no sound development plan, and I feel that I am the very embodiment of an overworked, exploited laborer...
