Read the community guidelinesHigh degree of freedom at work; as a public-sector organization, there is no fear of being arbitrarily laid off.
If you are a woman here or have a good relationship with upper management, you are guaranteed to have a very good time: the work is easy, you will receive an “A” in performance reviews year after year, and you will definitely get promoted.
If you do not meet the above conditions, you will have a very hard time: you will be given all the lousy tasks, have no chance of promotion, and receive a “B” in performance reviews year after year. On top of that, there are many managers who only know how to talk and have no real ability. They do not look at competence; they only care about whether you know how to flatter them effectively.
Basically, the pay here may now disappoint people, because bonuses have been drastically reduced due to external conditions and operating policies.
High degree of freedom; working for a public institution means you don't have to worry about being arbitrarily laid off. That's the only advantage.
There really aren't any other benefits.
Do not come to the Medical Engineering Office under any circumstances. If you are from the industry, the people here will not teach you; they will only watch you make a fool of yourself.
The section leader has the same attitude. There is also serious infighting, and many people are petty. There is a lot of negativity here; every day, they talk badly about others for amusement.
The section leader does not do any work, and the department director is even worse. If they do not like you, it is extremely obvious.
The medical engineering department at Taipei City Hospital frequently posts job openings and has a very high turnover rate.
Performance bonuses and year-end evaluations are all the same. If they do not like you, this is all you will ever be able to receive.
I sincerely advise those who are planning to apply to Taipei City Hospital: do not join and regret it later.
I am sharing real incidents I personally experienced to inform everyone.
Once you enter the hospital, you never have to worry about unemployment again—awesome!
Government institutions seem to be living in the distant past. Prices outside are skyrocketing, but this hospital couldn’t care less. Procurement prices get lower and lower each time—a paradise where lousy vendors thrive~
