Pros

The office is beautiful and feels very stylish. They also play their own radio station, which is very comfortable.

Cons

I sincerely think the media professionals working there are impressive.

The company does not offer any special benefits; everything follows the Labor Standards Act. The starting salary is basic and includes a NT$1,000 perfect-attendance bonus.

For advertising-related positions, there is also a collective accountability policy: if a mistake is made, the person responsible must compensate for it, and the supervisor will also be affected. You must be extremely careful and persistent.

If you are married, the company may give priority to young, single candidates with less experience and degrees in the relevant field.

If you do not have a relevant degree, I recommend canceling the interview invitation because the rejection rate is high.

Candidates with a relevant degree or experience are a better fit.

Pros

The office atmosphere is generally quite casual and relaxed.

Cons

There is no overtime pay, but employees are often required to work overtime. To avoid labor inspections, employees are required to swipe their access cards during regular working hours (and then return to work), so that no overtime records are left, yet no overtime pay or compensatory leave is provided. Regardless of whether they work overtime, employees who forget to swipe their cards during regular working hours will receive a negative record in their attendance and performance evaluations. In other words, if you stay late to work overtime, not only do you receive no overtime pay, but your performance evaluation may also be penalized.

Labor-management meetings do not seem to be held regularly. However, as I recall, the Labor Standards Act stipulates that the minutes of every labor-management meeting must be submitted to the labor bureau. This suggests that there may be falsified labor-management meeting minutes, or erroneous information claiming that both labor and management agreed not to hold meetings.

It has the same owner as Hit FM, and job responsibilities are not clearly divided, so staff are used interchangeably. The limited benefits, however, are calculated separately, which feels quite unfair.

Finally, the radio station’s starting salaries are quite low. For this radio group, most entry-level employees at the Taipei station earn no more than NT$30,000, and some are offered as little as NT$26,000.
