Because the mold-closing machine had not been properly organized, the boss berated the technician on the shop floor, who talked back, saying, “It’s only been half an hour—how clean are we supposed to get it?” Back in the office, the boss told me that because the electric fan was turned up too high, I should turn it down whenever the air conditioning is on. After saying that, he berated me, asking, “What’s with that look on your face?” I had simply replied “Mm” with a blank expression, but he then criticized me for looking sour. Later, people on the shop floor said the boss had come back to the office and berated me because the technician had talked back to him on the floor. What terrible luck.
The salary is average, and there are technical skills to learn.
People in the family business are difficult to communicate with. They shift blame, lack ability yet love to show off, and spread inaccurate or damaging information about others behind their backs (speaking ill of them). The junior boss may appear to say he wants to learn from you, but under no circumstances should you give him your technical knowledge—he cannot be taught and is conceited.
