I applied for an administrative assistant position, but was later told that there was also an assistant production control position available and that I could consider which one to take. After joining, I discovered that it was a very traditional family-run company. The managers and some section-level supervisors were all insiders. At first, they said there was a lot to learn and that it would take a long time, but before the end of the first week, they already expected me to handle scheduling. The pace was very fast and the workload was heavy, which was not commensurate with the salary and benefits. My supervisor would constantly interrupt me and ask me to do things for her, then later ask what I was actually working on. After I answered, she looked as though she had completely forgotten that she had asked me to do those things. In the end, she even said that the tasks I had on hand should not take much time to complete and told me to take on other people's work as well. When I did not cooperate, she asked HR to call me in for a meeting. HR was also extremely unprofessional: without clarifying what had happened, they pointed at me in a public area and told me twice, “You’re new! You can’t talk to your supervisor like that!” May I ask which provision of the Labor Standards Act regulates what newcomers are allowed to say? If all you want is someone who will obey and never talk back, I suggest you look for one at a pet store or daycare center instead. The health examination regulations had already changed, yet they only notified me before I joined, so I found out about it at the last minute. Even after work and during holidays, my supervisor would keep sending work messages nonstop.

Low salary. The employee retirement contribution of 6% is actually included in the salary. The boss's wife claims to be vegetarian to save the Earth and thinks she is very enlightened. Before the Lunar New Year, you will be called into a small room to review your work attitude over the past year, including taking bereavement leave. She will then lecture you that, since you are only a grandchild, there was no need to take three days of leave. When you sit at your desk at work, you will be watched and accused of doing nothing. Your efforts are not recognized, and there are many shady practices. Afterward, I no longer really trust anything labeled organic food. It is a family business: the daughter is very capable in sales, but her mother is very demanding.
