Read the community guidelinesLunch is free, but you have to compete with senior executives/senior employees for the good dishes.
The company faces many challenges, including changes in the industry environment (declining catch volumes, the rise of island nations, etc.). Its rigid salary structure makes it impossible to retain younger generations. These issues, compounded by mutual obstruction among management, have plunged this once-glorious old company—once renowned for its adaptability—into crisis. The gender issue you mentioned is merely the tip of the iceberg. Other issues, such as lax onboarding and training for new employees and senior employees pressuring staff to help with personal matters, have further prevented this company, once a source of pride for Taiwan, from demonstrating its capacity for change. I hope the company can seize the opportunity to adjust its operations and culture; the current situation is truly heartbreaking.
