It feels like HR is just randomly sending out invitations to hit their performance targets,
so you should think twice before going to the interview.
I heard the year-end bonus is decent,
but the base salary is low, so....
HR invited me to an interview.
I first asked roughly what salary range the position fell into,
as I didn't want to make a wasted trip because of a large discrepancy.
After all, taking time off and paying for gas are both expenses.
HR replied that they would need to discuss it with the manager.
Later, I thought that since the company was a large enterprise,
I agreed to the interview.
But after receiving the email notification, I was completely dumbfounded:
it was not the same position we had originally discussed.
However, I had already agreed, so I had no choice but to attend.
On the day of the interview, I discovered that the manager had not even looked at my résumé beforehand.
During the conversation, I realized that they were not looking for someone with expertise in the field;
they only wanted someone with the relevant certifications.
To put it bluntly, they were merely trying to meet the client's requirements.
The key point is that I asked the interviewing manager roughly what the salary range was,
and he answered me, "That needs to be discussed with HR" @@.
It was just completely speechless, so what about the salary?
I've been working for more than a decade and have never encountered this kind of situation.
I have always valued honesty and respect,
but my impression was that the other party was just randomly sending out invitations, with no respect whatsoever.
