I heard that it seems to have already disbanded; I'm not sure whether it's still in business.
If you are laid off, you receive severance pay.
The outrageous turnover rate has already been mentioned by others, so I won't go into it.
Instead of constantly recruiting, maybe think about why people are leaving.
The company keeps the two people who cause the most problems, while everyone else is either laid off or pressured into wanting to leave.
One is a manager who is incapable of managing, and the other is an engineer who is very well protected.
After leaving, I started feeling much better. I no longer suffer from insomnia or anxiety at night.
Everyone is confused and doesn't know the direction, and the company hasn't given anyone a clear direction either.
Internal coordination is poor. Meetings are often held without anyone knowing what they are for, wasting time, and meaningless activities are becoming more and more frequent.
The salary structure is also problematic. Only the managers themselves know how contributions are evaluated.
What was said during the interview is very different from what I saw after joining.
They believe they are always right and that others are always wrong. They refuse to listen to other people's explanations and always assume the worst of their employees.
Although many startups and small companies have these problems, this place seems to be the combination of all of them.
Besides, the company isn't really new anymore despite calling itself a startup. I heard that they are now supposedly considering many ingenious ways to solve these problems, but so far it seems to have only gotten worse, with no sign of improvement.
The office is located in a WeWork, and the environment is quite comfortable. The colleagues are all very nice, and everyone gets along well (except when dealing with the overseas engineers and the boss). I’m grateful to the company for allowing me to meet such great colleagues.
The company has an extremely high turnover rate, and a high proportion of departing employees were laid off. Only a small number resigned voluntarily, but most of those departures were also unhappy. It is easy to imagine that the company has a lot to adjust in terms of its systems and management.
The company’s PM role is temporarily handled by the boss, who acts as a messenger, conveying the ideas he obtains from the overseas engineers to the other employees in Taiwan for them to follow. The software development schedule was seriously delayed because of the engineers, yet the engineers were still well protected. In contrast, when the schedules for other teams’ work were estimated inaccurately, they seemed to be more easily singled out.
