At the time, the monthly salary listed on 1111 Job Bank was NT$40,000 to NT$45,000. However, the job offer stated NT$35,000 (base salary of NT$32,000 plus a perfect-attendance bonus of NT$3,000), which clearly did not match what was posted on the website! The salary is also paid in cash.

After I reported this to the Job Bank’s customer service, the company changed the listing to NT$35,000 to NT$45,000. I wonder whether other positions also use this kind of tactic to lure people into interviews.

The interview was conducted by the current graphic designer. We only exchanged LINE IDs so I could provide my résumé and portfolio, and the entire process consisted of a verbal conversation, with nothing written on paper. The supervisor did not participate at all. After the interview, the interviewer said they would report back to the supervisor. The entire process was extremely perfunctory.

The benefits are considered good for a small company—there’s room for improvement compared with larger companies, but they’re better than those of some smaller companies.

I applied for an online-store customer service assistant position, but the job was basically miscellaneous work. As is typical of a small company that doesn’t want to hire more people, they expected one person to do the work of several: managing e-commerce platforms, uploading products and editing images, packing, picking, and shipping orders, inspecting products returned for after-sales service, and replying to customer service messages on all official platforms. The company also sells various pieces of junk that people would only buy if they had no other choice, so there were tons of problems and a huge number of products sent back for repair. They also wanted disposable employees who could get up to speed immediately. It wasn’t even a large company, but if they thought your work was inefficient by their standards, they would fire you. Before I had even worked there for a month, I was told in the middle of a workday that I would only be working until the next day and would also have to hand over my work. The dismissal didn’t seem to follow legal procedures either; they fired people arbitrarily, as if they were a large company. In reality, they were just a lousy company selling junk for huge profits. Fortunately, I didn’t stay—what a waste of life.
