Read the community guidelinesDoes being famous as a game count?
Before entering the company, you must contact HR using the phone at the entrance. Then, you fill out personnel information and a questionnaire at the seats by the entrance, after which three supervisors and one HR representative conduct the interview. The interview process is very simple, but they raise objections regarding applicants’ places of residence, making it difficult for non-Taipei residents to be hired.
There are also the unspoken rules of Korean companies that everyone understands: relatives and favorites of those in power rise effortlessly; otherwise, you have to show more cleavage.
They previously held a livestreaming event, and the host had absolutely no control over it. His hosting skills were about on par with those of an elementary school student, but he was a senior company executive, so you can imagine how chaotic things were internally.
The company looks clean and bright
1. The interview location differed from the location listed on 104 and the company’s registered address. It was at a corner near the traffic circle by the registered address (and they didn’t notify me either...)
2. During the interview, there were two translators and a Korean person. Whenever I asked work-related questions, they always answered with “company confidential,” “the same as the Labor Standards Act,” or “the same as the work at a typical game company.” It was completely impossible to understand the job responsibilities, overtime, or other information.
3. There was no year-end bonus (but I didn’t understand how the salary was determined either, because that was company confidential).
Overall, I felt pretty bad after the interview. It is a game company shrouded in mystery.
Pros
There is no infighting among colleagues. The managers are all close with the employees, except for the two highest-ranking executives.
Cons
To take sick leave, you must first use compensatory leave or annual leave, unless your condition is serious enough to require hospitalization. If you still want to take sick leave, the boss will be furious.
Overtime cannot be claimed as overtime pay; it can only be exchanged for compensatory leave. Otherwise, the boss will also be furious.
There are only the three traditional holiday bonuses; there is nothing else.
It is best to know Korean, or at least English; otherwise, there are few opportunities for promotion.
