Pros

Accumulating enough life drama for a prime-time soap opera

Cons

To be honest, from the interview all the way through joining the company, I had no idea what this company actually specialized in, because the training system was practically nonexistent. If you're just a university graduate with no job prospects looking to do odd jobs, or if money isn't a concern for your family, you can come work here. But if you have long-term plans for your life, you'll probably become extremely anxious 🙂 The coworkers also seemed to have no idea what was going on. Everyone was just muddling through and waiting to die, occasionally gossiping—and you might even end up becoming the subject of your own gossip (?). When rushing to meet a project deadline, there was absolutely no planning: we'd spend four or five days working overtime to write a proposal without any direction, and the proposals written by several people had neither consistency nor focus. We'd hastily submit something just for the sake of submitting it. If we didn't win the bid, we'd move on to the next proposal, with no postmortem or anything. And if the system was like this, there was no need to think about employee benefits either—we just kept eating empty promises until we felt sick.

During my time there, I experienced two situations where the company seemed on the verge of collapse. Even after salaries were delayed and unpaid, the company still had the nerve to claim that it was “still calculating the hours worked,” or brush us off with remarks like “How much do you think you should get for this level of productivity?” or “Who do you think you are, talking back to me like that?” Of the ten things they promised, it felt like twelve were never actually carried out—the extra two were additional demands they expected you to fulfill. There was also an absurd amount of drama during my employment. It wasn't just that the company had problems; the veteran employees they brought in were bizarre in all kinds of ways too. All I can say is, every pot has its matching lid. Some slept at work and only held up progress; some came up with a pile of excuses whenever a deadline arrived; some had barely any experience in the field yet bossed everyone around and acted as if being a manager made them incredibly important; some constantly gave impractical instructions with no clear priorities, vehemently argued with people, and started giving attitude whenever something went wrong or they needed to submit an expense claim; and some messed things up, quit twice, and were still given a third chance to return. The remaining fresh university graduates came into the events industry with fresh livers and fresh attitudes, only to have both worn down to almost nothing:)All I can say is, impressive.

Pros

Can't think of any.

Cons

My most regrettable work experience was basically a complete waste of time. They invited me to an interview without even updating the company address; only after I arrived did they tell me it was not the correct address. The cluttered desk during the interview also left a poor impression. They did not even properly review my résumé. The position discussed at the interview did not match the position they actually needed. I interviewed for an execution role, but the supervisor said that, given my educational background, I was better suited to writing proposals. I clearly stated that I had never done that before, but they painted a rosy picture, saying that if I really was not suited to it after joining, I could transfer to the execution department. They also said that a supervisor would teach me step by step after I joined. Only after starting did I realize they were playing word games: there was no opening in the execution position at all, and there was no supervisor to teach me how to write proposals. Basically, if you were not suited to the job, you were told to get lost. The proposal supervisor in the same team slept at work, browsed online shops, and watched esports competitions instead of doing any work. The boss was just as bad. For one tender project, they would sometimes ask people to write it and sometimes say not to; everything was repeatedly delayed, then they would pressure everyone to meet the schedule in the final two days and even add other tasks. The budget was pitifully low, yet they demanded an elaborate presentation. There was nowhere to turn for help; raising problems only resulted in the person who raised them being punished. From beginning to end, the boss never reflected on having lured people into joining by playing word games, causing them to reject how many offers and suffer how much loss. They repeatedly went back on their word and did not think they had done anything wrong. The company systems were full of loopholes. Meetings were extremely inefficient, with people saying a sentence here and there and dragging on until the end of the workday. For that miserable salary, there was an enormous amount of work. In the end, I realized they simply wanted to use a low salary to buy someone who could do everything. It was an all-responsibility arrangement with a salary of only 32,000, no year-end bonus, no holiday bonuses, no overtime pay, and no meal allowance. If you had to deliver things to government agencies, there was no transportation allowance or reimbursement whether you took the MRT or rode a scooter. The person who slept at work earned 38,000. All I can say is, the place was unbelievably awful.

Pros

Some employees are easy to get along with, flexible working hours, quite a lot of freedom, and a comfortable environment

Cons

Unpaid overtime is required on weekdays, and support is often needed on holidays as well (I heard that compensatory time off is provided for holiday work, but no one ever gets to take it).

Although it is supposedly a position with responsibility-based hours, there is simply far too much work to finish.

The company has fewer than 10 employees but has taken on a large number of government contracts.

On average, nearly every employee is responsible for an entire contract.

On weekdays, the two senior employees work overtime until 10–11 p.m. every day.

No pay is provided for unpaid overtime.

If you can accept working more than 12 hours a day,

this place is quite suitable. The salary is also just over 30,000.

I suggest listing the working hours as 10 a.m.–10 p.m. when recruiting,

so people will not keep joining and leaving one after another.
