Pros

1. Since it is just the chairperson and yourself, this is suitable for people who do not like dealing with interpersonal relationships among colleagues.

2. Punctual working hours.

3. The current work involves introducing Japanese patents related to green energy, allowing you to learn specialized knowledge in a field that is usually difficult to encounter.

Cons

1. Because the chairperson is rather impatient, you may sometimes be pushed to your limit.

2. If your Japanese does not sound sufficiently like a native Japanese speaker's, you may be told, “Sorry, I really don’t understand what you’re saying (in Japanese).”

3. The salary conditions do not match the level of ability required for the position.

4. After resigning, I was asked to provide a document showing the transfer out of labor and health insurance. I discovered that the insurance had been canceled earlier than my actual employment period. After I raised this with the chairperson, she only gave me the accountant’s phone number and told me to discuss it myself. When I called the accountant to report the issue, she replied, “What do you want to do about it?” Although I eventually received a file after requesting a correct labor and health insurance transfer-out document, I later contacted the Bureau of Labor Insurance and discovered that the other party had not actually changed the insurance cancellation date at all—in other words, they simply fabricated a document and brushed the matter off.

Pros

The HR personnel who arranged the interview had a good attitude.

Cons

The position advertised by the company was Executive Assistant/Secretary to the Chairman.

The interview was conducted entirely in Japanese by the president himself.

1. His attitude was quite disrespectful toward the interviewee, and he used the plain form in Japanese throughout the interview.

2. He conducted a background check, asking even about family members’ ages and where they worked.

3. The Secretary/Executive Assistant was required to also serve as a company planner, but the company could not offer corresponding compensation.
