Pros

Free Chinese food (not tasty)

Cons

The work environment is completely unbearable for a human being.

It is very hot, a small, dirty tin-roofed place,

The pay is also ridiculously low. You work from Monday to Saturday, and almost every day you have to work until 10 p.m.; it is extremely exhausting.

When you ask for a raise, the boss never takes action and only gives you empty promises.

The boss is also extremely biased toward the on-site supervisor; everyone else is treated as if they deserve to die.

I’ve heard foreign workers say that he is very heartless (the dormitory costs 500 for those who speak Chinese, but 2,000 for those who don’t speak it well; air conditioning costs extra to install, and electricity is charged separately. Foreign workers are paid only 15,000, and even after working themselves to death with overtime, they only make 27,000).

The company’s administrative staff really have filthy mouths and love gossiping about other people; their opinions are all extremely biased.

Pros

Foreign workers are easier to get along with than Taiwanese people

Cons

It’s basically a sweatshop with an extremely high turnover rate.

Here, you have to learn how to pretend to be busy—the better you are at pretending, the more favored you’ll be. Once the accounting staff, administrative staff, supervisors, and boss realize that you’ll resist, they’ll deliberately target you.

The accounting staff speak very crudely and specifically choose unpleasant things to say. They also like to badmouth others in private and say that people have something wrong with their heads.

The production-line supervisor is selfish and self-serving, and can distort the truth however it suits them.

The boss is a complete outsider and very emotional. Faced with an inexperienced employee who works overtime and an experienced employee with poor cooperation who doesn’t work overtime, they chose the latter.

Oh—right—the boss also really likes to criticize people with the benefit of hindsight.
