Pros

At first, a very friendly woman came to speak with me,

and her tone was also very polite.

Cons

I applied for a graphic design position.

I thought the friendly woman was the interviewer because she wrote down my requested salary of 28,000 (the salary I requested; she said salary would be discussed in the interview, but apparently salaries below 30,000 or 40,000 can no longer be negotiated~) and where I lived. However, a man came in afterward who seemed to be the supervisor I would work under. The interview took place in a small conference room, so I couldn't see the employees.

Anyway, he asked me about some designers I liked, and then, just like the previous person, he also asked what I would do to sell one more dish sponge if I were a manager at 3M. He seemed to like my answer. Then he said that because it was a trading company, he wanted to know whether I had taken the TOEIC. I said no, but I had passed another standard English certification exam. He then said that if my English was good, I could help proofread English documents for them.

I was completely confused—wasn't I applying for a graphic design position??

And proofreading alone is already a separate job. I would be doing both design and proofreading for only 28,000. Isn't that ridiculously cheap?

Of course, I also told him that my English wasn't very good, and he didn't say anything. He then asked questions like, “What failures and successes have you had in your life?” (What does that have to do with the job? ODO...) But I answered them anyway.

Afterward, I felt that I didn't like the place. He wanted me to start working immediately the following Monday, so I said I would think it over. He immediately!! Right away!! stood up and opened the door wide. (I thought that was very rude.)

The male supervisor was very strange, while the woman was quite friendly. The company is located in a building near an industrial area, with many small companies inside like that (it took me a long time to find it).

Pros

It is a small company, a small company with five or six people.

Cons

I applied for the position of graphic design assistant. The HR manager was very friendly, but the hiring process was a little too quick, so I kept feeling puzzled. I was notified about the interview on Tuesday, interviewed on Wednesday, and notified that I had been hired on Thursday.

During the interview, besides a simple introduction and reviewing my portfolio, the person in charge asked me a marketing-related question (if you were a 3M manager today, how would you sell one more scrub sponge?). However, my answer was not ideal. The person in charge said I could look for the answer after returning home and email it to him. As soon as I returned to my residence after the interview, I immediately searched for information and emailed the company. The next day, I received a hiring notification.

After receiving the hiring notification, I asked about the exact salary. The HR manager replied, “approximately NT$27,000,” but did not clearly explain the other items (such as the overtime system or labor and health insurance). I therefore asked whether there was an official offer that could explain the salary structure. She replied, “Could you send the company a sample for reference?” However, I was a recent graduate and did not have any offer samples from other companies on hand. Even if I had, it would not have been appropriate to send one to her. I consequently did not reply for two days, after which the company proactively emailed me to say, “This job may not be suitable for you.”

And that was how I was rejected.
