When I initially applied through 104, I applied for Junyi Electromechanical. During the interview, they said the company was divided into two departments and that I would be assigned to one based on my abilities later. Since whether overtime was paid was very important to me, I asked about it. The woman who interviewed me said that if there was unfinished work or if I went out with field staff and returned late, I would receive overtime pay. I later found out that the person who interviewed me was the boss’s wife. On my first day, I was told that I belonged to the Foer Electrical department? I was extremely confused. Nothing had even started, yet I was assigned to that department. To help me better understand Foer, I was assigned for several days to go to Longtan with the field staff for training. The company is in Tucheng, and I followed along with the experimental procedures. However, every time I returned from training, I received no overtime pay. Working hours started at 8:30, but I had to arrive at the company at 7:30 or 8:00. The end of the workday was 17:30, but after training I would return at 18:30, 19:30, or even 20:00. I also raised this with the department supervisor, and his response was that the travel time to and from the experiment site in the morning and afternoon was not eligible for overtime pay. In addition, if I wanted to apply for overtime pay that day, I had to submit the request before 13:00 or 14:00 that afternoon, and only after the supervisor reviewed it could the overtime be approved. This was completely different from what they said during the initial interview. It felt like they were exploiting loopholes and using smooth talk to make you believe them. The boss’s wife seemed very arrogant and self-important, and her attitude was extremely poor. The boss was even worse and incredibly self-important. Talking to him or listening to him talk took at least an hour; he kept bragging about himself and rambling. You could forget about getting your own work done. This company simply wants to take advantage of you, pay you a meager salary, and make you do a lot of meaningless crap. It was unbelievably ridiculous???? After the Lunar New Year, when work resumed, our department originally had four administrative staff. One was forced to take maternity leave, and another said after work resumed that they wanted to resign, leaving just me and one other person. The person who had initially been forced to take leave was informed so suddenly that we had to take over their work, but we only had one day for the handover and did not learn anything properly. That was it—the handover was considered complete. Even more absurdly, the person who planned to resign after the holiday also handed over roughly the same things to me, and then I was suddenly informed that I was being dismissed???? This was unbelievably awful. I had done nothing wrong and had been very seriously handling the handover. It was truly beyond frustrating. There was absolutely no system or structure…. I really regret coming here.

Pros

Absolutely none.

Cons

This company has no policies or SOPs whatsoever. They suddenly add or change things whenever they feel like it, without considering you at all. Everything is done solely for their own convenience. There is no HR department, and the person who interviews you is the owner of the company, who has no professionalism either. The interview is extremely simple because they are desperately short-staffed. The turnover rate is high, so they should be grateful whenever anyone applies. They only want to hire people at the lowest possible salary. Just about anyone can get hired. They originally offered a monthly salary of 27,000, but after everyone left because the pay was too low, they raised it to 32,000 and still think that is already very high, while wondering why they still cannot recruit anyone.

This company consists of three companies. Although all three are clearly the same company, it is unclear why internal administrative items such as petty cash, stamps, toilet paper, stationery, and other office supplies have to be divided so meticulously. They will then haggle over every little expense with you. The senior managers and long-serving employees are all the same. They also make up all kinds of bizarre rules. The owner even prohibits employees from staying in contact with former colleagues, creating a group to criticize the company, or using LINE to chat during work. Whenever the owner encounters something she dislikes, she adds another rule.

The owner will even secretly look at your LINE messages. If she sees you talking with other colleagues about the company’s shortcomings, she will secretly take photos and then spread the matter at meetings with the various supervisors. They have absolutely no respect for other people’s privacy. In addition, they will forget to pay approved overtime and pay it late. Even after being reminded repeatedly, they just say they forgot. Everything only has to be convenient for them.

When you need to talk to them about something, they are impatient. When they need you, they use a semi-coercive and affected tone while pretending to be very polite. No matter what you do, they will always find problems and make things difficult for you in every possible way. They constantly ask you to do many meaningless tasks that they nevertheless believe are efficient. It is an absurd waste of time. They also want you to start work early and leave late, but the key point is that there is never any overtime pay. To work overtime, you apparently have to submit a request before around two or three in the afternoon, which is extremely troublesome.

They always like to call sudden meetings just before the end of the workday, making you stay past your scheduled finishing time—often by at least an hour. The owner is very good at talking about a bunch of meaningless things that provide no help whatsoever for your future work. She only talks about her own matters and wastes your time. They often ask you to do all kinds of pointless tasks and show absolutely no consideration for employees.

When this company distributes year-end bonuses, it should normally do so in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, but it does not. They give you less than they should. They keep saying there will be employee trips, but there never are. The owner also comes down to participate in the lucky draw at the year-end party. Even annual leave is not granted according to the Labor Standards Act; they decide everything themselves. For example, after six months of employment, you should receive three days of annual leave, but they require you to wait another month before you can take it. It is completely ridiculous.

They simply want to make a small number of people do a huge amount of pointless work. In short, the entire company is extremely stingy.
