興達環控科技股份有限公司
Pros

The company is close to home

The supervisor and manager, as well as most of my colleagues, are good people

Regular working hours

Cons

1. Family business: Apart from me and the sales assistant, almost all the employees are the boss’s relatives and friends.

2. Promises are not kept: When I joined the company, I was verbally promised a salary increase after passing the probationary period. However, when the time came and I asked for the promised raise, I was told that the company would deduct the attendance bonuses from the first few months when employees took epidemic-prevention leave! The job responsibilities were also different from what had been described when I joined. I was expected to take on multiple roles!

3. Redundant staff causing trouble: The accountant does not prepare financial statements or reconcile the accounts, and is only responsible for reviewing payments and calculating salaries. What they do best is praise the boss’s wife and report other colleagues’ work situations to the boss!

4. Manager in name only: The most capable person is only allowed to handle business development (the original management authority was taken away by the boss)!

5. Inefficient meetings: If a meeting lasts an hour and a half, approximately one hour of it is spent listening to the boss ramble on about the past, or watching a heated debate between the boss (uncle) and an employee (nephew)!

6. Constantly changing instructions: The project-site progress-tracking spreadsheet alone was changed three or four times within three months, and there was always something wrong with the format!

7. Problems with cost calculation: Costs are not calculated until construction is completed. How can profits be monitored or controlled then?!

8. No self-reflection: If there is an error in a document after the boss has reviewed it, the boss is never at fault—the employee is always considered the biggest problem.

9. Disrespectful toward employees: The boss only communicates with employees by scolding them, never listens to what they have to say, and only says, “I’m the BOSS. You can’t talk to me like that!”

10. Erratic: Things that have already been arranged are often changed at the last minute, leaving employees unsure of what to do!

11. Stingy company: The company laid off an employee who had already passed the probationary period before the Lunar New Year, claiming that their work performance did not meet requirements. Clearly, they just did not want to pay the year-end bonus!

12. Petty-minded: Whenever an employee does anything or displays an attitude that displeases the boss or the boss’s wife, they are given no opportunity to improve and no chance to explain. The employee is targeted and even deliberately made things difficult for, in an attempt to force them to resign!

P.S. This company also has another name—Jianeng Energy Co., Ltd.
