The atmosphere among colleagues is very bad, and the boss is Korean!

There is no clock-in system, so naturally there is no compensation for overtime.

He brings his girlfriend to work, takes employees out for McDonald’s breakfast and brunch, and is often late paying outstanding debts, so vendors have to call to ask for payment!

Overall, there are major communication problems. The way he speaks makes employees feel distrusted, and there is mandatory overtime every day (assigning you tasks before the end of the workday and requiring them to be completed that day). The desks are very close together, so you always feel like you are being watched (there are indeed surveillance cameras with audio recording).

The air quality is very poor because the boss’s allergies mean the air conditioning cannot be turned on! (Even in summer—the fact that they let you use an electric fan is already something.)

The worst part is being maliciously dismissed at the end!!! (This has happened many times—the company has a history of maliciously laying off employees.) After hiring new people, the company realized it did not have much business recently and wanted to dismiss existing employees first, forcing them to sign a voluntary resignation form.

There really are no benefits. The boss has the final say—he does not care about you at all!

They do not approve leave requests and even say, “Then cancel your plane ticket!” (You end up losing a lot of money yourself and are then maliciously dismissed—what a heartless company.)

Please do not enter this company while holding onto a Korean dream.

Most Korean men have deeply discriminatory attitudes toward women, and this boss is no exception!

A truly problematic company; interviewees, please do not waste your time here. The company's operating cash flow is clearly problematic, and communication about salary payments and labor contracts is difficult due to differences in nationality, language, and understanding, so be very careful. The former employee shared that the company's methods of laying off employees are unscrupulous. In short, the salary structure is not straightforward. It seems that new employees generally do not stay for more than a year—clearly, there are serious problems with this company.

This company is absolutely terrible. In addition to the three inexplicable problems mentioned above:

1. Work environment: Very poor. It is located in a side unit of a building, with very small windows, making it almost impossible to breathe.

2. Supervisors and policies: The company consists only of the owner, two supervisors (one a Korean-language graduate and one Korean), and two entry-level employees. Half of the office is used for sorting or storing inventory, and the supervisors’ desks are right behind the entry-level employees. Although the employees do not engage in any misconduct, it feels as though we are being monitored at all times. Basically, everyone in the company speaks Korean, so anyone who does not understand Korean cannot communicate directly and can only rely on the Korean-language graduate supervisor to direct all the work. This supervisor expects everything to be done exactly according to her wishes, and expects employees to get the hang of it immediately. If they cannot, they are fired.

3. Owner: The owner’s responses to those issues were truly inexplicable. Occasionally, depending on the owner’s mood, they would treat employees to lunch or drinks, or give them small company gifts. However, because the owner cannot speak Chinese at all, the supervisors handle nearly all communication with employees.

Note: This is the worst place I have worked at over the past several years. I strongly advise everyone not to go there.

This interview was very strange.

I can’t remember whether it was in Yonghe or Zhonghe.

It was a group interview, with questions for everyone to answer.

I remember one question was about the cheapest way to travel from Taipei to Kaohsiung, along with questions about Korean celebrities and which five companies ranked highest in online shopping.

They were completely unrelated to the job duties, and the boss was Korean.
