Pros

No advantages.

Very poor management.

Including me, there were four new hires in the same period; all three others left within three months, whether voluntarily or involuntarily.

Cons

1. The company is very small, which also means there are very few employees. However, the CEO is completely unreachable—he does not read messages or reply to emails. Many development projects require the CEO’s approval, but he cannot be contacted. It often takes 2–3 weeks to get his response even after samples are ready.

2. Taiwan operations were entrusted to a Filipino employee (this statement is in no way intended to be racist or sexist; it is simply stating the facts). The Filipino employee became the liaison between the American CEO and the company in Taiwan. All matters, large or small, had to go through this employee to learn the boss’s thinking and company policies. However, the Filipino employee did not understand Taiwanese culture and could not speak Chinese at all, yet had many opinions about Taiwanese vendors. We often had to deal with Taiwanese vendors according to this employee’s preferred approach, which was very unreasonable.

3. This company has absolutely no standards for dismissing employees, and employees’ salaries may be cut by 50% or 70%—entirely depending on the boss’s mood.

4. Surveillance cameras were installed in the office, which felt very uncomfortable.

5. Employees were required to install time-tracking software on their computers. I had no objection to clocking in and fully cooperated, but this software could take screenshots of or record your computer screen at any time. It felt as though there was absolutely no trust between management and employees.

6. Policies and product direction changed constantly, often leaving vendors unsure of what to do.

Supacaz has been able to make it this far; all I can say is, it’s great to be born under a lucky star.

Pros

I can't think of anything good.

Cons

They casually find reasons to fire people, and tell them to leave that very day, without signing any documents, discussing severance pay, or settling their wages.

You can even be fired for staying home on a typhoon day in accordance with the Labor Standards Act and not sending an email. The company has been established for 12 years, yet most employees have less than one year of tenure, which shows that the company fires employees extremely frequently.

It's one thing for the company to have no systems in place, but it is truly concerning that it does not understand the Labor Standards Act.
