I have been working here for a little over two months. The supervisors and the owner are actually quite normal, and the atmosphere at work is also very good. Regarding overtime, the owner has continuously discussed with everyone the best way to resolve it. Aren’t the working hours at security companies and event companies usually irregular anyway...? Perhaps I’m just more used to it.
I don’t ride a motorcycle, and there is only the MRT nearby. You have to walk a long way to get to the bus stop.

I’d like to share seven issues I encountered while working here, for anyone considering applying:
1. Meetings are really too long. Even simple matters can be discussed for a very long time, followed by a pile of tasks that need to be completed that day. All the time is spent in meetings, but the work does not finish itself, so employees are still the ones left rushing to complete it in the end.
2. Everything has to be done the supervisor’s way. I was even loudly reprimanded because I used a different method to operate a presentation. The materials had clearly already been uploaded; the supervisor simply had not seen them, but I was still reprimanded. Looking carefully before speaking really should not be that difficult.
3. They said my ideas had problems but did not explain how to revise them. During discussions about an event, my ideas were rejected, but I was not given specific reasons or directions for revision. After listening, all I knew was that they were dissatisfied. As for what would satisfy them, I had to guess for myself.
4. They make inappropriate sexual jokes that make people uncomfortable. It did not happen often, but I have heard it, and I cannot accept it. Everyone is here to work; these kinds of jokes really could be left out.
5. They did not promptly notify others about a positive diagnosis. The supervisor later said in the group chat that they had already tested positive earlier, but did not proactively inform me at the time. When something concerns colleagues’ health, it is important to say so as soon as possible. Finding out only afterward was genuinely upsetting.
6. They were late themselves, but complained when others were a little slow. They were once more than ten minutes late for a gathering and also once asked at the last minute to change the meeting location, meaning everyone else had to walk there again. Yet when other people were slightly slow, they would complain. Everyone’s time is equally valuable.
7. Overall, I do not recommend it. The work arrangements and communication style were already exhausting, and the issues involving verbal boundaries and health information made my experience with this company very poor. If you want to work in events, I suggest looking at other companies as well. I personally would not choose this place again.

I consider myself someone who can handle—and even enjoys—working overtime, but here are my working hours during the first two weeks after joining. Make of them what you will!
First week
Monday: Finished work at 12 a.m.
Tuesday: Finished work at 2 a.m.
Wednesday: Finished work at 4 a.m.
Thursday: Finished work at 10 p.m.
Friday: Finished work at 10 p.m.
Second week
Monday: Finished work at 7 a.m. the next day
Tuesday: Finished work at 8 a.m. the next day
Wednesday: I couldn’t take it anymore, so I took the day off
Thursday: Finished work at 10 p.m.
Friday: Finished work at 10 p.m.
To add to that, none of this overtime was paid!

The boss treats employees working overtime as something they are supposed to do. They believe that employees work overtime because they failed to schedule their work properly, lack ability, or work too slowly. In reality, the main reason is that every project has fewer than five working days from initial planning to presentation (some even have only two days). The boss does not come into the office until 5 or 6 p.m., at which point they start calling everyone into meetings to discuss progress. Even if you send them the files early, they will not respond to you.
Basically, the boss does not care that working hours end at 6 p.m.

For every proposal, my supervisor requires us to first agree on the structure with the boss, and only then continue writing after reaching a consensus. But every time, the boss says things like, “What is this? You brought this to me? The content is too incomplete!” Damn, weren’t we supposed to be discussing the structure first?

The company’s turnover rate is extremely high. I’d say the average employee tenure is less than two months!
Also, the boss has a very bad temper—the kind of person who blows up after just three sentences. They yell and make a scene, which still affects the atmosphere in the office.
5.
Finally, I may genuinely have been too weak. I left in less than a month because my body could not handle the workload. Since I had been there for less than a month, I submitted my resignation to my supervisor that day and stopped going in. However, the boss was extremely unhappy about this and reportedly even threatened other employees over me, completely refusing to acknowledge that there was anything wrong with the company.

The pay is ridiculously poor!!!!!!
Well, in the three months I was there, six people left.
Even the longest-serving employee had only been there three months.
The turnover is unbelievably high—how wonderful.
