No advantages

I’d like to share seven issues I encountered while working here, for anyone considering applying:

1. Meetings are really too long. Even simple matters can be discussed for a very long time, followed by a pile of tasks that need to be completed that day. All the time is spent in meetings, but the work does not finish itself, so employees are still the ones left rushing to complete it in the end.

2. Everything has to be done the supervisor’s way. I was even loudly reprimanded because I used a different method to operate a presentation. The materials had clearly already been uploaded; the supervisor simply had not seen them, but I was still reprimanded. Looking carefully before speaking really should not be that difficult.

3. They said my ideas had problems but did not explain how to revise them. During discussions about an event, my ideas were rejected, but I was not given specific reasons or directions for revision. After listening, all I knew was that they were dissatisfied. As for what would satisfy them, I had to guess for myself.

4. They make inappropriate sexual jokes that make people uncomfortable. It did not happen often, but I have heard it, and I cannot accept it. Everyone is here to work; these kinds of jokes really could be left out.

5. They did not promptly notify others about a positive diagnosis. The supervisor later said in the group chat that they had already tested positive earlier, but did not proactively inform me at the time. When something concerns colleagues’ health, it is important to say so as soon as possible. Finding out only afterward was genuinely upsetting.

6. They were late themselves, but complained when others were a little slow. They were once more than ten minutes late for a gathering and also once asked at the last minute to change the meeting location, meaning everyone else had to walk there again. Yet when other people were slightly slow, they would complain. Everyone’s time is equally valuable.

7. Overall, I do not recommend it. The work arrangements and communication style were already exhausting, and the issues involving verbal boundaries and health information made my experience with this company very poor. If you want to work in events, I suggest looking at other companies as well. I personally would not choose this place again.
