1. A NT$100 lunch allowance is provided; any amount over that must be paid out of pocket.
2. Everything fully complies with the Labor Standards Act.
3. Indoor motorcycle parking for employees is provided (at the Farglory Shopping Center parking lot).
4. The refrigerator is stocked with free drinks, snacks, and prepared meal packs, plus free rice that employees can cook and eat themselves.
5. It is easy to take leave.
6. National holidays are scheduled flexibly. For example, if a national holiday falls on Wednesday, it is sometimes moved to Friday so employees can have a five-day break from Wednesday through Sunday.
7. The indoor work area has air conditioning.
8. Overtime pay is provided.
1. The salary is extremely low: NT$23,000, before deductions for labor and health insurance.
2. It is physically demanding work, including moving very heavy items.
3. Contract employment offers no security.
4. If the company notices that you are too idle, it will criticize you and assign additional duties. For example, I was originally a Factory Affairs Assistant, but the company said the factory’s output was too low and told me to work as both a Sales Assistant and a Factory Affairs Assistant, while still paying only NT$23,000. Otherwise, you remain stuck on successive fixed-term contracts indefinitely.
5. One person has to handle multiple roles, such as Factory Affairs Assistant + Sales Assistant + cleaning and housekeeping.
Conclusion: Insufficient output = sales ability is too poor = the factory has no orders = everyone in the factory is idle = so how is that my fault? Why criticize the person who works the hardest and does the most physically demanding work? Are they using good benefits as a way to exploit employees by adding more duties?
