The management style of Manager Zheng, the female IT manager, is quite appalling. She bullies employees and supervisors in other departments, and regularly picks one or two people in her own department to use as scapegoats and bully. She can even use company-provided meal allowances as a tool to ostracize subordinates she dislikes.
During the interview, no English proficiency was listed as a requirement, but she uses underhanded tactics to ridicule engineers’ English abilities, using English proficiency as a tool to disparage employees’ capabilities and bully them personally.
However, when you first join, this female IT supervisor appears very friendly. You will later discover that no one in the company is willing to deal with her (apart from her subordinates, who have no choice but to humor her, none of the employees with similar seniority are willing to interact with her). Nevertheless, the supervisor continually indoctrinates new employees. After observing her for two months, you realize that she is a compulsive liar, skilled at sowing discord and making irresponsible remarks, and will use every possible means to suppress her rivals.
Employees currently working in her department and former IT employees have reported her lying and bullying behavior. However, the female supervisor has a very good relationship with the company’s current British male CEO (the female supervisor occasionally hints that the CEO and other senior foreign male managers are protecting her and want to play the knights who protect her), so all reports and feedback are ineffective…
New employees considering joining Universal should be careful. IT is essentially a department under totalitarian rule—you are expected to serve Empress Wu Zetian.

Although I searched online for company reviews before the interview and found that they were not very good, I went to the interview thinking that perhaps different positions might have different experiences. There was one male and one female interviewer. The man seemed to have studied or worked abroad, so at times during the interview he did not seem to understand what I was saying. However, throughout the entire process, the female interviewer was extremely arrogant, acting as though she was very capable. She responded to every answer with an extremely disdainful attitude and mocked me. Some questions required me to describe a situation to her, but she kept saying she did not understand. Later, she came up with her own explanation, and I said that I could describe it that way too. The female interviewer then said, “See? I can explain it.” Her attitude was truly awful. When asked about my work experience, I answered that I had worked in the food service industry. The male interviewer actually said that he did not consider food service to be a formal job, just carrying and collecting plates. I was completely like, “What!?” There are so many people working in Taiwan’s food service industry, and sometimes the work involves much more than just carrying plates, okay!? In short, their attitude was terrible and they showed no respect for the interviewee.
