Pros

This company doesn’t really have any advantages. It’s just a large company with an attractive image. The salary is average. Even employees on a monthly salary may be required to take unpaid leave. The boss is very penny-pinching. Chatting during work hours is not allowed, and there is no break time in between (other companies have break time, but this place is special in that there are no breaks—you can only go to the restroom or drink water).

Cons

The supervisors are not very willing to teach newcomers like us. If we make mistakes or encounter problems, the newcomers are held solely responsible. The supervisors have extremely poor attitudes and a harsh tone. After working for only a few days, if you want to resign, you need a resignation form and may still be deliberately obstructed. If you skip the resignation procedure and simply stop showing up, they will even deduct two days’ wages, which is completely unreasonable. However, all of this must be signed on the first day of employment. Even though it violates the Labor Standards Act, they still require you to sign. There’s no choice—you have to sign and write down unreasonable things.

Pros

There are too many forms to fill out for the interview, and the interview itself takes too long. The boss made everything sound very good: compliance with the Labor Standards Act, holiday bonuses, and clear criteria for pay raises were all promised. Only after being hired did I realize that a good position would not have remained vacant for so long without a reason—the problems all stem from management.

Cons

After I was hired, the manager’s attitude when teaching was like someone going through menopause: very irritable and clearly unwilling to teach anyone. As if the bad attitude were not enough, whenever I made a mistake, I had to bear the responsibility myself. The manager simply ignored it and told me to figure it out on my own. This is an extremely strange company. Every day I saw the foreign employees working very hard, but because the manager had no SOP for teaching people, the foreign employees also made mistakes and had to bear the consequences themselves, figure out how to work unpaid overtime to deal with them, and even take leave to go to the clients’ premises and clean up the mess themselves. If you make a mistake, you have to bear the responsibility yourself, and the company may even fine you or punish you with labor service. It is truly enough! On holidays, the boss would also require foreign employees to work at his private place without pay; if they did not go, they would be punished with labor service. The boss did not follow the Labor Standards Act at all, yet still lectured others in a self-satisfied manner. I later realized that the senior employees who became managers always shifted responsibility onto newcomers, which is why most people quit after working there for only a short time. After resigning, your salary would not be transferred. Instead, the departing employee had to find time to go to the company in person to collect cash after payday. (Even though the company had a bank account for salary transfers, its policy was that resigned employees had to go to the company to collect cash.) It was the first time I had heard of this, and I was stunned. It felt as though they were making things difficult at every turn 😕. I recommend that everyone take what this company says with a grain of salt: claims that its systems are well established and its bonuses are comprehensive… just listen and leave it at that. They are polite and pleasant during the interview, but their attitude after you join is completely different—the contrast is enormous.
