Pros

1. Music is played in the office. You can also listen to music with your own headphones. Individual workstations have partitions.

2. The colleagues are nice.

3. The general manager is approachable. During the Lantern Festival, the boss’s wife makes tangyuan to treat the employees. On the last and first working days of the year, the company provides breakfast or lunch boxes. When business performance is good, drinks paid for by management are provided from time to time.

4. There is a convenience store right downstairs from the company. It is close to the Feng Chia shopping district, with plenty of food options nearby. Transportation is fairly convenient.

Cons

1. The office is divided into separate sections, so there is little interaction between departments. There is also not much interaction within departments. I was once asked to give a demo to a client together with another department, but since we usually had almost no work-related contact, it was difficult to develop rapport.

2. The atmosphere is dull. The department leaders do not seem to place much importance on maintaining a good atmosphere. A colleague from another department was once complained about for coming over to build rapport.

3. When I worked as a PM in the Product Department, there was little two-way interaction with my direct supervisor. Most communication consisted of one-way instructions. (The supervisor has a history degree.)

4. There was no additional allowance for overseas business trips. Only meal expenses were covered, along with reimbursement for internal souvenirs purchased for company colleagues. I was initially assigned to share a room with a colleague of the same sex; this was changed only after I raised the issue.

5. For many things at the company, you have to ask on your own, including work responsibilities and personnel or administrative policies. There is no systematic professional training, which is a real pity.

Pros

There’s actually not much that’s enjoyable... The company is basically hands-off at the beginning.

To put it nicely, you’ll learn things, but in reality, the company wants people who can hit the ground running.

It’s hard for me to say whether the coworkers are easy to get along with... A company that recruits new employees all year round,

yet has a ridiculously low survival rate for newcomers.

During the interview, they give you a test first, and then once you get in, it’s a marathon of reviews, one hurdle after another.

There’s very little you can ask during the process; most of the time, they just say, “Look it up online yourself.”

If you ask for a hint, you may have to wait until a senior colleague is in a good mood, otherwise you’ll get lectured.

Of course, people with a strong foundation can feel free to go there and see whether they can tough it out.

Cons

There’s some wordplay before and after the interview. Basically, if your foundation isn’t strong enough, don’t waste your time going there just to get chewed out.

They’ll say that experience doesn’t matter and that your field of study isn’t restricted.

That’s because once you get in, they weed people out one hurdle at a time during the review process.

They’ll hand you a test and have you complete it on a computer; once time is up, they’ll advise you to withdraw.

You also won’t be able to get much help during the process. They’ll only tell you to look things up online, which is pretty difficult for people without development experience...

So this is why, when they say during the interview that they “don’t look at experience or educational background,”

what they really mean is, “I’ll just gradually weed you out afterward.”

Pros

1. Unlimited listening through the broadcast audio system

2. Practice workshop

Cons

1. New hires’ annual salary will not exceed 400,000

2. Pretends to be a tech company but is actually a traditional industry company; no clocking in or out, and a responsibility-based system

3. If you don’t go on the employee trip, it is considered voluntarily giving up the benefit

4. Some colleagues are easy to get along with. Be careful of shareholders and fake colleagues, or you won’t know how you died
