Pros

None

Cons

Company policies: None. Because it is a family business, there are no real policies, and the boss’s wife has no opinions of her own and only listens to a certain employee.

At work, the most unacceptable thing is that the company has an older female colleague who conducts the interview with you.

At the beginning of the interview, she gives you a test that feels like a university exam, but says it is only for reference. Later, she barely discusses the actual job and benefits, and tells you what to pay attention to at work. The interviewer is not interested in your past qualifications, but in family gossip.

After being hired, if you ask once because you are unfamiliar with the company’s procedures, that is fine. But if you ask a second time, she starts making sarcastic and unfriendly remarks. You are constantly given a hard time every day.

When you resign, even work you were never taught is misrepresented as something you should have known; any mistakes are blamed on your lack of ability.

She likes to use “insufficient ability” as a reason to pressure employees.

You will feel that her double standards are extremely serious: when people she likes make mistakes, she ignores them, but she is strict with newcomers and does not allow them to ask questions.

I left because she indirectly adjusted my job duties while cutting my salary by NT$5,000, forcing me to leave on my own. Extremely unscrupulous.

Yet the boss’s wife of this company trusts her very much and follows her words unquestioningly. I really do not know who the boss is. She has no judgment at all. It is terrible.

A company with no policies, where one dominant employee oppresses colleagues; the workplace atmosphere is poor, and the boss’s wife has no opinions of her own. I cannot think of anything good about this company. If I really had to say something, it would only be...

During the interview, they say that if you do not understand something, you should ask, but once you are hired, everything changes.

Her tone and attitude are inexplicably awful, and all the colleagues in the company ignore this behavior because no one dares offend her.

It is terrible.....

If you are coming here, be mentally prepared. Do not get on this pirate ship.

Pros

1. The benefits system is fairly comprehensive: a five-day workweek with public holidays off, bonuses for the three major festivals, year-end bonuses, wedding gifts, and so on. However, the year-end bonus is calculated based on length of service (under the old system).

2. Paid annual leave is provided, calculated under the old system.

3. Employees can purchase the company’s own products at lower prices and may also have opportunities to sample some products.

4. Work schedules are relatively flexible. Aside from fixed duties, other miscellaneous tasks can be arranged and completed at your own discretion (depending on the position).

5. A monthly group-meal allowance is provided.

Cons

1. It is a traditional industry and also a family-owned business. Occasionally, the owner’s relatives or friends may ask to purchase xx products, requiring time to host and assist them.

2. Staffing is tight, and it is common for one person to take on multiple roles.

3. The owner places great importance on performance and requires each department to meet performance targets, but even when the targets are actually met, the performance bonus is not substantial…

4. You can try applying for overtime pay, but whether it will be granted depends on approval from senior management.

5. Communication within the company can be confusing and unclear. Sometimes senior management gives instructions only by phone or verbally, which can lead to mistakes, but employees are the ones who get reprimanded afterward.

6. It is recommended that you negotiate a salary within an acceptable range from the beginning, as salaries are generally adjusted only once a year.

7. The company’s systems often malfunction. Since the company does not employ an engineer, every breakdown can only be handled by an outsourced engineer, frequently delaying work progress.

8. If your work performance does not meet senior management’s expectations, you may be pressured or treated unfairly until you resign. When operating conditions are poor, staff reductions may also occur.

9. Pay attention to your words and behavior. Sometimes even an unintended remark may be interpreted as dissatisfaction with senior management.

10. Because staffing is tight, your duties may be reassigned at any time. If there is a shortage of staff somewhere or a colleague resigns, you may be asked to provide support or take over that colleague’s work.
