1. The manager who conducted the second interview seemed friendly.
2. Basically, you leave work on time.
1. Salary and similar matters are not discussed during the interview.
2. It is a family business. The young manager does not like being challenged and believes that any problems in interactions are the employees’ fault. They show very little respect for employees.
3. Before asking you to leave, they say many demeaning things to employees. They even ask what the employee applied for and whether the employee knows what the job entails. Although the employee clearly explained their experience during the interview, they did not even know what experience the employee they hired had.
4. You are expected to arrive 15 minutes early every day, without pay. On Mondays, you have to arrive 30–40 minutes early.
5. They tell departing employees, “You worked here for such a short time; you don’t need to submit a voluntary resignation letter, right?”
6. They tell departing employees that they cannot refer to themselves as Mr. X or Ms. X, saying, “How can you not understand this even with your educational background? You can’t call yourself Mr. or Ms.” They think employees should state their full names; otherwise, they do not know who they are.
7. When facing problems, every family member feels that they are being challenged and that the other person is being rude. When asked why a personal seal is required on the pay slip, they reply, “What’s there to be curious about?” In short, they are extremely rude. If you do not provide your seal, the manager takes your wages and has a seal made, stamps the document, and mails it to you.
8. They do not remember what they themselves have said and assume they have already given notice when they have not, blaming everything on the employees.
Quick, time-saving interview:
After filling out the basic information and completing the test, someone who looked like the boss came in for the interview.
Because I had seen elsewhere that the company’s employees work overtime for one or two hours every day, I wanted to clarify the situation at the time, so after answering the questions, I asked:
Interviewee: May I ask what the job duties are?
Boss: The usual duties at a trading company.
Interviewee: So, replying to customers’ emails, sending samples...these kinds of tasks?
Boss: The interview is over. Our company is not suitable for you.
The conversation lasted no more than five minutes in total. It seems the boss likes employees who obediently follow instructions.
Unclear
1. The interview process was not stressful, and the interviewers did not pull rank or act condescendingly. They treated the interviewee with respect. The interview also included explanations of the job responsibilities and what would need to be learned upon joining (familiarizing oneself with the products and materials).
2. The surrounding area is nice, with plenty of snack stalls and restaurants nearby, and convenient transportation.
3. The company has been around for quite a long time, so there should be little concern about it suddenly going out of business.
4. The office environment is clean and tidy.
5. The job responsibilities were transparent (it was mentioned that employees might occasionally need to take turns helping receive shipments at noon). The salary is NT$30,000 per month, with NT$27,000 during the probationary period. It may not be particularly high, but it is still acceptable.
1. The company communicated entirely through the job bank platform from beginning to end and never notified me by phone. If you do not check your email or the job bank website frequently, it is easy to miss messages. The replies were also quite formulaic.
2. The job responsibilities do not sound very challenging. Aside from becoming familiar with the products, there does not seem to be much room for learning, making it suitable for people who prefer stability. However, since I did not accept the offer, I am not sure what the actual situation is.
