Read the community guidelinesThere are occasional personal and household cleaning products, but they are essentially failed products.
The former China Chemical & Pharmaceutical Co. is now China Chemical & Pharmaceutical Holding Co.; the affiliated company is the cosmetics factory below it. The benefits are not the same as those listed in the 104 job posting. The company as a whole is extremely run-down, with very poor hardware and software. The environment is also very dirty and disorderly, and the internet or power may be cut off halfway through the workday. The company has been established for nearly eight years, and there are some relatively senior employees. The factory manager also tends to listen to the senior employees. The factory manager has all the decision-making authority and does whatever they want, without caring about the opinions of the people below them. The management style is extremely dictatorial. After working there for a while, you can sense some inhumane practices.
Each of the three festivals comes with a NT$1,000 gift voucher. There is an approximately 0.7-month mid-year bonus, while the year-end bonus depends on individual performance and the company’s financial results (whether it made a profit).
After completing one year, employees may purchase company stock through an employee stock ownership program (NT$1,000 is deducted from the monthly salary to buy company shares).
There is an employee dormitory with two people per room, as well as a cafeteria. Each meal costs NT$20, but the menu... A lot of people bring their own lunch boxes XD
Overtime pay for factory employees is provided in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, so production-line employees almost always work as much overtime as possible and earn more.
The R&D department receives compensatory leave for overtime. By the end of the year, employees need to use up their compensatory leave and unused annual leave from the previous year, in order to avoid departmental expenses, except in special circumstances.
The salary is considered low for northern Taiwan (the starting salary for new hires is just the minimum salary listed on the 1111 job website). If you are from northern Taiwan and have other options, you should think it over carefully. For people from other areas, the company provides dormitories, which can help save on accommodation costs.
There is no fixed schedule for salary increases; it also depends on whether the company is making money. Basically, it is estimated that newcomers may need at least five years or more to break NT$40,000.
The company has a long history and many long-serving employees, so don’t be too surprised to see people watching dramas or using tablets. Managers also tend to turn a blind eye.
In summary, if you are an ambitious young person, you may have better options. Basically, most of the people there are mothers with children or people who want to work steadily until retirement.
The company holds a sports day every year to help employees’ families strengthen their bonds. There are also foreign workers who can assist with cleaning laboratory equipment.
The division of labor is very specialized. Almost all of the analytical researchers are female colleagues. The workplace is so stable that it feels a bit like a retirement home. The pay and benefits are poor. During the three-month probationary period, trainees must submit a training report for the chairman’s approval. I encountered problems developing analytical methods according to factory regulations; the experimental results were different every time. There were also problems with handovers, which led to some questionable aspects in applications for government documents...
