Read the community guidelinesThere was only an interview, nothing else.
This was a video interview in 2023. I recently happened to see this company recruiting and remembered that interview.
1. The HR representative really seemed intent on cutting the salary, which made me uncomfortable.
2. If you couldn’t offer my expected salary, you simply shouldn’t have invited me to interview. Instead, you tried to cut the salary, which naturally made me uncomfortable. I didn’t say anything; I was just impatient in my attitude. Then the manager also said that I was interviewing for a software engineer position, not an XX engineer position, implying that my salary expectation was too high. After we talked for a while, my attitude remained firm. In the end, the interviewer became upset and harshly criticized me, even saying that they would report my attitude to the company.
The first stage was a video interview, and the manager was quite polite. Since I had relevant experience for the position I applied for, I felt that the conversation went very well, and the manager also said that they would arrange a second interview. The time was to be announced later.
A week passed without any contact. Although I was mentally prepared that I might not have a chance, I still emailed HR to ask. HR replied that the manager said the time would be confirmed by the end of that week.
Another week passed without any contact. I more or less knew that there was no hope, but I still emailed HR to find out what was going on. As expected, HR really did send a rejection letter.
It’s not that I can’t accept being rejected. What I can’t accept is that the integrity of such a large company is so poor. They gave the interviewee so much hope, only to waste my time and deceive me from start to finish. Absolutely terrible.

HR acts as if their goal is to cut your salary. They’ll say salary levels are Hsinchu Science Park > foreign companies > Taipei—don’t believe their nonsense. With EPS this high and such stingy pay, it’s because your company offers lower salaries, not because Taipei salaries are lower. If you can’t offer a higher salary, then why invite people to interview after seeing their expected salary at the outset? Do you think other people have too much free time? It’s a waste of time.

You’re expected to operate the machines with extreme precision, while foreign workers slack off, leaving you busy to death. The engineers even swear at you, the pay isn’t much, and people are pretty stupid.

Think twice before going, because the interview might be canceled the day before, hehe.
