Pros

The supervisor is very professional and willing to share and listen.

Cons

The human resources staff were bureaucratic and arrogant, leaving no room for discussion regarding salary adjustments. They even mocked the job seeker for not being the male lead from a certain finance movie. They ignored the request to delete personal data until the job seeker stated that they were preparing to initiate legal proceedings, at which point they were finally willing to take action.

Pros

Interviewed for the SQA Engineer (Windows) position

1. Both the interviewing manager and HR were very professional.

2. The salary at a foreign company is more competitive.

3. The interviewing manager’s questions were of a certain standard, and they would chat casually before asking questions to help the candidate relax.

There were two phone interviews and an in-person interview. Unfortunately, I was not hired in the end.

Cons

Pros

For the first interview, the company did not provide a written test, which I found quite novel. However, the supervisor’s questions were very professional. They had prepared the English résumé you submitted and asked questions based on it. I recommend first reviewing the English résumé you wrote yourself and prioritizing projects you have worked on that were particularly distinctive or left a strong impression. Multinational companies really like candidates to ask questions, and during the interview they may ask about projects you have worked on but are not very familiar with. The salary and benefits are above the industry average.

Cons

Multinational companies are ruthless when it comes to layoffs. For loss-making departments, they will decisively make deep cuts to the entire BU. Therefore, you need to be mentally prepared to leave at any time. Although this can be considered a disadvantage, it is also an advantage: at least if you are laid off, they will pay an additional two months’ salary so that you have money to live on and look for your next job.

SQA Engineer (Windows)
(Synaptics Taiwan)香港商新思國際科技有限公司台灣分公司
Pros

The department manager I interviewed with was insightful and very courteous.

It really felt like a multinational company.

The department also sounded highly competitive and stable.

Unfortunately, I didn’t answer the questions very well, and there is still some professional knowledge I need to strengthen.

I’ll try again next time.
