Pros

There are absolutely no benefits, including the three traditional holiday bonuses. They are constantly troublesome regarding pay; I don't know how they calculate salaries, and they never pay on time.

Cons

They delay salary or overtime pay for various reasons.

Pros

In all respects, temporary employees are treated in accordance with the Labor Standards Act.

You can learn a lot about the fundamentals of HR, recruitment, client relations, and the latest laws and regulations. Since the company is performance-oriented, the salary is good when performance targets are met.

Cons

The company could provide employees with more encouragement

and make the workplace atmosphere a little better.

Cons

They are constantly pressured to meet performance targets and rush people into unsuitable placements. They browse job-bank résumés carelessly and unprofessionally, seemingly only wanting to send résumés to corporate clients to meet their quotas. Interview times are arranged according to the corporate client’s requests, and their rough approach is more like a debt-collection agency than a professional headhunting firm. The overall process is disrespectful; when I declined, their reply was still very harsh. A friend also received a call from them last time, and it was likewise like dealing with a debt-collection agency. You should choose carefully before entrusting your career to them...........

Pros

The manager of this department is nice.

I learned a lot.

Cons

1. The salary is far below the average level.

2. This year's salary adjustment has nothing to do with your PDP, because the amount of your adjustment for next year was actually decided long ago.

3. There is no overtime pay. The sales manager pressures employees to work until midnight, and they also have to come in on holidays.

4. After the general manager in Taiwan left, the senior sales manager became like a local emperor and acts like a thug. Whatever he says goes. He may call you to a managers' meeting to berate you; the worst part is that he is completely wrong about who is at fault. Afterwards, even when he realizes he berated the wrong person, he pretends it never happened.

Pros

The headhunter seemed unprofessional.

Cons

They exploit the anxiety of people looking for jobs and only want to deceive people to meet their performance targets.

They said the position was urgent, but it took 1–2 weeks to receive notice of the result?

Is this really a position they urgently need to fill?

When I missed a call, I was required to call them back and add them on LINE. There was no detailed description of the job responsibilities, yet they asked several unrelated questions. The job requirements were then brought up one by one after the fact, followed by a switch to recommending other jobs with lower pay, a longer commute, and worse conditions. They were also laughing and joking on the phone, which felt unprofessional. They showed no respect for the interviewee. We have never even met, so please do not address me by my first name; please use my surname.

If you’re looking for a job, Manpower is a good choice, but I can only say that you need to work with the right manager.

Cons

If you’re an employee looking for a job through Manpower, my honest advice is to make sure you find the right consultant. The consultants vary considerably in quality, so I recommend working with the right one. Before the interview, you can ask the consultant plenty of questions. If they keep talking in circles, please ask to switch consultants.

Because I am preparing for an exam, I am applying for administrative and customer service positions.

I have already written everything very clearly above.

I am preparing for an exam, so I want to find a job that does not require overtime.

I will do this job for two years—what exactly is unclear?

You made a mistake yourself and assumed that I had only just started studying.

I have already explained repeatedly: I will enroll in September the year after next.

This timeline is already very clear and specific.

Why ask me when the exam is or what I am doing?

When I take the exam is my personal matter.

It has nothing to do with the stability of the candidate you are recruiting.

I have already clearly told you about my stability: I will do this job for two years.

It is up to you. Some people do not say that they will stay for a long time, and you assume they will stay longer than I will, but then they leave after only a few months.

Let the supervisor decide whether to bet on them or on me.

I do not want to answer. Please do not ask, okay?

If you miss their call, you have to proactively call them back.

Although they say this is part of their recruitment process—the first step is a phone interview—if no one answers when they call, they will not send you an email or contact you via 104 to arrange an initial phone interview.

If you do not proactively call and ask the switchboard to transfer you, they simply let it go.

Bad review.

They will play word games with you. At the beginning, they have you sign the complete contract, but when renewing later, they renew only the salary section with you. When you want to transfer to another company, they will tell you about the provisions in the contract that you must not violate afterward. The key point is that when you renew, they do not bring the complete contract to explain it to you at all.

Made contact with an elderly person with a particularly unusual surname

Had a poor attitude. Asking for a lot of information was one thing, but they also insisted that it be provided that same day; otherwise, they kept calling to demand it.

After I had done a great deal of preparation, they said that this position was looking for a fresh graduate and that I was too experienced and therefore unsuitable (I have about 5 years of work experience).

What the heck?

Poor

Cons

A headhunter called to ask about my salary, saying that some companies cannot pass the initial screening without salary information. Please be sure to refuse.

This will make Taiwanese companies think that this kind of practice is acceptable.

Foreign headhunters may also ask for salary information,

but a refusal is a refusal—they will not use such despicable tactics as these old-school Taiwanese companies do.

They just called to collect salary information, without even looking at my résumé. I kept insisting that it was stated on my résumé, and after looking at it, they said they felt the position was not a good fit and would contact me again if there were other openings.

I suggest that when dealing with staffing or headhunting companies, even if they say the salary cannot be disclosed because it would not get past the client, you should still not provide your salary information. Plenty of overseas headhunters also ask for salary information, but if you refuse, they accept your refusal and do not use such a low-level excuse to affect job seekers’ employment opportunities.

At most, just look for jobs at ordinary companies.

Extremely disrespectful to interviewees over the phone! The work offered also provides very little security—they cut shifts whenever they feel like it. So I’m supposed to accommodate your schedule and take unpaid leave?

I saw a job posting on a job bank offering a monthly salary of NT$30,000, so I sent in my résumé.

Two days later, HR called and said that the positions handled by the company’s agency were only NT$25,000–26,000. WTF!

A well-known foreign company’s contract ends after two years and is not renewed—you can receive one month’s involuntary separation pay. If you voluntarily resign before completing two years, you won’t receive it. In addition, no health checkups are provided for dispatched employees...
