Pros

After the video interview, I interviewed at the Environmental Protection Bureau.

Cons

The company does not provide comprehensive employee training. It only distributes a work plan for employees to read on their own, and then assigns them to work at the Environmental Protection Bureau.

Pros

1. The company atmosphere is great and everyone is cheerful.

2. Supervisors and colleagues help one another, so no one has to struggle alone.

3. They provide thorough guidance to those without experience and do not use reprimands as a teaching method.

4. For those who do not necessarily need to take holidays off, being able to take compensatory leave on weekdays is also quite good.

Cons

1. Salary increases are not substantial. Those looking for high-salary challenges can consider working in sales.

2. They expect you to be highly productive without providing sufficient resources or compensation.

3. Unused compensatory leave for working on holidays cannot be exchanged for overtime pay.

Pros

The company is making progress, and the business grows year after year, so it has prospects.

The company has CSR, and salaries and raises are very clearly defined; performance is valued more than seniority.

The salary is better than in the general service industry, but you do need to use your brain for the work.

There are fixed annual raises, as well as year-end banquets or company trips.

This industry provides training in project management. If you want lots of money, little work, and a short commute, this isn’t for you.

If you just want to remain at the entry level and coast, this isn’t for you either.

The regional managers have all been here for over ten years, so most of them have considerable expertise.

Cons

It is run by engineering-minded men, so everything is reasoned through and there is little room for flexibility.

Because of the requirements of government agencies, taking leave and resigning are relatively inflexible (as stipulated in the contract).

Writing reports is mentally taxing.

Pros

1. Most of the colleagues are pretty nice.

2. As long as you have thick enough skin, you can leave immediately when work hours end.

3. The job basically does not require much professional knowledge.

Cons

A lot.

1. It is a contract-based employment system, so the employee turnover rate is extremely high. The efficiency of teamwork depends on the planning ability of the project manager. Unfortunately, I encountered a manager with poor abilities: after a colleague resigned, the work was handed over to the manager, but the manager did not hand it over properly and instead blamed subordinates, asking why we did not know how to do it. However, more than half of the subordinates, including me, had been employed for less than half a year, and the work items were different anyway.

2. Every month, we have to pay around NT$100 in welfare fees, but the only real benefit is a meal gathering once every three months. Participation is basically mandatory; only veteran employees have the right to decline. The meal subsidy is only about NT$200.

3. There are often situations requiring business trips on holidays or at night. Only compensatory leave is provided, with no overtime pay. Some colleagues’ compensatory-leave hours have even been reduced by the system, so they have to keep track of their remaining hours themselves.

4. The environment at one of the central Taiwan branch offices is poor. Cockroaches and rats sometimes appear outside at night, many miscellaneous items are piled up, and the restroom has very poor soundproofing.

5. Based on the requirement to work overtime and go on business trips irregularly, and even run outside errands during working hours, the salary for regular employees is really not much—it feels like doing charitable work.

6. Most benefits are only available on a prorated basis after completing three months of employment (for example, the NT$200 meal subsidy). For the year-end banquet, it seems that employees who have not been employed for a certain period cannot participate in the lucky draw. Similarly, the employee trip is subsidized only for employees who have been employed for a certain length of time; otherwise, they must pay the full cost themselves. In addition, employees from each branch have to drive themselves to the destination, as the company does not arrange an itinerary.

In short, the benefits are not very good, the work is complicated, and the salary is average. Overtime and outside work are often required. If you want to do charitable work, I really recommend this place.

Pros

Witty conversation during the interview and at work

Cons

They take extreme advantage of newcomers to the workforce, deceiving them with benefits and unequal contract terms.

After you have been there for three months, they start making things even worse and require you to work overtime.

Colleagues form cliques.

Senior employees are very unproductive, often watching YouTube, eating, and talking on their phones.

The overtime is excessive, and supervisors may still consider your attitude poor, which causes work efficiency to decline.

Pros

The colleagues are nice.

Cons

The benefits are terrible.

The boss is extremely stingy.

Every month, we pay into the employee welfare fund, but there are hardly any benefits. Events such as year-end parties and trips are always held midway through the following year. By the time the planning is finalized, you can forget about participating. The only benefit you can actually use is the employee dinner subsidy. The subsidy seems to be around 200 per person, but you have to pay upfront yourself, and then wait—sometimes even six months—for the 200 to be reimbursed.

The performance bonus is actually an advance payment taken from the year-end bonus.

At the end of the year, they may also ask you to pay back part of the year-end bonus privately or deduct it from the following month's salary.

If all you want is to pursue your dreams and do charitable work, you can come work for this company.

Pros

The only good thing is that the colleagues are easy to get along with.

Cons

The company benefits are terrible, and the boss is extremely stingy and mean. Do not, under any circumstances, come to this company—it is a huge waste of time.

Pros

Treat hardship as nourishment, and learn how this company disguises deductions from employees’ pay under various pretexts.

When necessary, this company will even send employees formal legal notices.

Cons

There are no benefits—unless you have at least a master’s degree, know how to curry favor with the company’s owners and senior managers, and become a core employee; only then are you qualified to discuss benefits.

Men are expected to be fiercely loyal and attack other consulting firms, while women are expected to be cute, sweet, and accompany their managers in the struggle.

Pros

In 2009, the company said that everyone had to pull together through difficult times and go without pay for three months, only receiving it upon resignation. The starting salary was under 30,000, and they would also deduct money here and there.
