Pros

The office chair, which has a very old-fashioned feel, is unexpectedly quite comfortable?!

Cons

1. The company is in a factory-office building on Zhongzheng Road in Xinzhuang, and there was no toilet paper in the restroom.

2. They will ask you to fill out the résumé form of another affiliated company.

3. For an accounting position, the duties are the same as those of a purchasing position: contacting customs brokers, arranging forklifts, and handling other “general affairs” tasks (the company says these count as general affairs work).

4. The résumé form asks you to provide your family members’ occupations, blood type, height and weight, as well as answer about 10 true-or-false questions asking whether you have legally defined diseases or similar conditions.

5. The office is extremely quiet and has no reception desk, so when you arrive at the entrance, you do not even know whom to look for.

6. The posted job description does not match the actual position. Seriously, don’t waste your time going to the interview. If that is what they want, they should just be upfront with job seekers instead of deceiving them like this.

Pros

I don't think there were any.

Cons

The office was extremely quiet; I didn't even hear a phone ring, and the meeting room was also somewhat dim. I had applied for a position as an overseas sales representative. The résumé information they required was extremely detailed, including family members and each person's occupation, my physical condition, and a contact person from my previous job. In addition, I had to translate a letter from English into Chinese, write a reply in English to a customer complaint, and answer multiple-choice questions about workplace situations that seemed to have been copied from somewhere. It took me quite a long time to fill everything out.

The middle-aged man who interviewed me said his surname was Lin, so he was probably the owner. From beginning to end, he had an arrogant attitude toward people and often looked displeased. He repeatedly said that he did not look at experience, but instead looked for whether the applicant possessed a certain trait—although he never clearly said what that trait was. Whenever he asked about my relevant experience, his tone was always skeptical, as if he did not believe what I was telling him. He also seemed to have a predetermined “correct answer” for every question; if someone’s answer was not what he wanted to hear, it was worth zero points.

Halfway through the conversation, I felt that the atmosphere was very strange and really did not want to continue. The funniest part was when he asked me what animals I liked. I could not answer immediately, so he said that he liked horses. He also asked whether I traveled independently and which countries I had visited. He even thought that traveling should mean independent travel, and that going to an off-the-beaten-path country like Nepal was the best. (I thought to myself: Traveling abroad is supposed to be for relaxation and enjoyment; where I want to go is none of your business.)

Finally, I asked about the company’s sales staffing and the countries it sold to. He said there were two sales representatives and two sales assistants, that they marketed products in dozens of countries around the world, and that their performance was excellent, among other things. I thought to myself: You’d better actually be that impressive.

Pros

The HR supervisor had a good attitude.

Cons

This company requires a considerable amount of information to be filled out during the interview. In addition to personal information, it includes Chinese-to-English translation, an English email, personal traits, and so on. Writing for over an hour was quite exhausting... My feeling was, isn’t it necessary to fill out so much detail if I haven’t even been hired yet? When I saw the forms, I immediately wanted to leave...

Next, the HR supervisor was a nice person and explained the organizational structure. But when it came to the boss... I was speechless! The qualifications they wanted for the position were completely different from what was written on 1x4. Is the boss out of his mind? So after that, I started... answering questions that had nothing to do with what was asked...

I traveled all the way from central Taiwan for the interview, only to encounter such an absurd company. I was truly speechless!

The position requirements on 1x4 said they were expanding and adding new employees to follow up on orders, but the boss said that business had dropped sharply and that they needed someone with business development capabilities... However, when I asked about the core customer allocation and revenue, he became evasive... saying that he couldn’t disclose it because I hadn’t been hired yet. Please—you’re evaluating me, but I’m also evaluating whether your company can afford to pay the salary, okay?

With that in mind, I advise everyone to think carefully before choosing this company...
