Pros

There is no senior manager constantly monitoring our progress.

Most of my coworkers are newcomers and do not intend to stay for very long,

so we get along fairly well.

There is no backstabbing or office politics, and I do not have to constantly worry about being stabbed in the back.

Cons

I worked at this job for a while.

During the interview, we agreed that the salary would be 26,000.

It was only after receiving my paycheck that I discovered this included 2,400 in meal allowance.

The office often requires overtime, and overtime pay is calculated based on the basic salary of 23,600.

Although I should have clarified this, I still felt deceived.

None of my classmates who graduated at the same time as me had a salary this low.

Fortunately, I left!

Pros

None at all

Cons

1. The only benefits are a one-month year-end bonus and the three traditional holiday bonuses; there is nothing else.

2. The office environment and equipment are unbelievably outdated, yet they refuse to replace anything. If you report it to the administrative department, they treat you like you're crazy.

3. Management is extremely focused on expanding the business, but does not want operating costs to rise. They come up with different ways every day to exploit employees, making one person do the work of ten.

4. For the reasons above, whenever more clients are added, the workload of existing employees keeps increasing. They crazily compress the office space just to store new client files. When there is too much stuff to fit, management still tells you not to make the place look like a warehouse.

5. Because the workload increased, they expanded the number of meeting rooms, but then told us that the decent meeting rooms could not be used and were reserved exclusively for client meetings. Ordinary employees who need to hold a team meeting have to go to the warehouse and figure it out themselves. It completely defies belief.

6. Management all believe that employees can always be replaced—anyone with functioning hands and feet is the same. Everyone is treated as a disposable chopstick.

7. Management treats all subordinates like disposable chopsticks while berating them. Every day they repeat how exhausted they are from reviewing so many documents, completely ignoring that the amount of work frontline employees have to review every day is at least ten times greater than theirs.

8. The manager disagrees with the team leader, and the manager also disagrees with the accountant. A report has to be revised once for every person who reviews it, and afterward they shift the blame during the review, saying the person who did the work failed to do it properly.

9. There is so much work that you have to work overtime every day. Even when you apply for overtime, they ask why you need to work overtime.

10. The base salary is very low. They give you a raise after you make it through a year, but it is still conditional. A raise of NT$1,000 comes with a requirement to triple your workload.

11. When you first join, they make it sound great: overtime is not compulsory and they will respect you. In reality, there are countless unspoken rules. For the same job, if your supervisor happens to be crazy, something others can complete in a week must be done by you in a day; if you cannot deliver, they summon you for a meeting.

They say they do not encourage overtime, but the deadlines clearly show that the work can only be finished by working overtime. During busy season, even if you are ahead of schedule, if everyone else works overtime and you do not stay, they will still summon you for a meeting.

12. They will relentlessly brainwash you into believing that every company is like this, rationalizing all of their own behavior.

13. Their outrageous behavior has resulted in an absurdly high turnover rate, so the employees who remain are constantly expected to help for free.

14. Because they cannot find better disposable workers, they randomly bring people in, including many who clearly said from the start that they could not work overtime. When those people cannot finish the work later, other employees have to clean up the mess for free.

15. They issue every policy without considering whether it is reasonable or feasible, simply ordering everyone to follow it. When something goes wrong later, they immediately shift the blame.

16. There are two sets of rules within the same department; there is absolutely no fairness.

17. A colleague became seriously ill and took an extended leave, but the manager still required them to work overtime on their own if their work was unfinished.

18. The administrative department pulls rank based on seniority. If they do not like you, they constantly give you dirty looks and speak to you in an extremely unpleasant tone.

19. Cooperation between departments is terrible, and other departments also push their work onto you, causing you to work overtime for no apparent reason that day.

20. They indulge clients excessively, leaving employees bullied by managers from above and berated by clients from below. Every day is an absolute adventure.

21. Whenever extra help is needed for administrative work, they force employees to draw lots and provide free labor. I do not know whether I originally applied for an accounting job or for manual labor.

22. Management unanimously believes that if the workload they assign you is within your capacity, then they must have made a mistake. Only a workload requiring overtime every month is considered reasonable.

23. Management receives management-level salaries, while frontline employees receive minimum wage. Then they demand that you advance and retreat with the company and do as much work as the managers.

24. Management's greatest pleasure is making employees stay late and work until midnight every day, while they leave work early themselves.
