Pros

1. You can take birthday leave for 15 days before or after your birthday.

2. China Steel employees can take four hours of charitable leave for donating blood.

3. Every Wednesday from 16:00 to 18:00, you can take exercise leave.

4. Free coffee and unlimited snacks.

5. A food steamer and microwave are available for use.

Cons

Drawbacks:

1. There is a significant gap between employee tenures: long-serving employees are united, while the turnover rate among new employees is high.

2. Many policies lack SOPs, there is no concept of work allocation, and management is fundamentally based on personal relationships.

3. There are many hidden issues. New employees can only endure whatever happens because long-serving employees are always considered right; raising concerns may result in dismissal.

4. During interviews, the company creates an image of being a happy workplace, but when forcing people out, it acts brutally and arrogantly.

5. Policies change from one day to the next, and there is no system in place.

The following issues relate solely to my personal position and the manager of my department:

1. The date for passing the probationary-period evaluation was postponed because I did not respond on a holiday to a non-work-related question from my manager (helping the manager provide a restaurant for a farewell dinner).

2. My right to exercise individually was restricted; I was only allowed to exercise as part of a group. If I wanted to exercise individually, I had to notify them in advance, which was inconsistent with company policy.

3. The manager monitored and controlled subordinates’ use of the food steamer and microwave, keeping a very close watch on them.

4. The manager repeatedly told subordinates, “I feel like I can’t control my subordinates,” which seemed to indicate limited ability.

5. The salary adjustment originally promised after the probationary period was paid in cash privately.

6. After assigning a task to a subordinate, if told that it could not be completed on time, the manager’s attitude would become very poor, as if feeling challenged.

7. When new employees reported that the behavior of long-serving employees made them uncomfortable, the issue was resolved through rapid dismissal rather than communication and coordination.

8. When dismissing employees, the manager said that signing “involuntary resignation” would leave a record, which carried a semi-threatening implication.

9. The manager said that from notifying an employee of dismissal to sending them away would take less than 10 minutes, and prohibited the employee from touching the computer after being notified, requiring them to pack up and leave immediately.

Pros

Colleagues get along well, and the atmosphere is good. Coworkers are very friendly in training newcomers, and welfare activities are often held.

Cons

Various activities are often held, and the management department positions are the ones that become exhausted. Secretaries need to participate in pre-event setup and post-event cleanup.

A secretary is essentially the entire company's caretaker:

They must clean the tables, chairs, and cabinets in the meeting rooms and common areas of the three offices every day, and wash the coffee machines and cups daily.

They must also use their own scooter to run errands, send mail, and purchase supplies; receive visitors; prepare tea and coffee; and serve as the telephone receptionist.

They also have to handle warehouse management and general affairs. There are extremely many and miscellaneous tasks, and the salary is low during the three-month probationary period.
