Pros

All of the comments below, even those from six years ago, still have very high reference value to this day 😊

Cons

Whether you are a web designer, a marketing professional, a sales assistant, or something else, you will have contact with the backend team. Unfortunately, the people on the backend side happen to enjoy throwing their weight around based on their seniority (when the boss is away, they completely treat themselves as the boss and give orders). Aside from their work logic and reactions being quite disheartening, their ability to express themselves and communicate is always on a completely different wavelength from everyone else’s. In short, dealing with them requires an enormous amount of patience and tolerance. As for the other work-related issues, the commenters below have described them very precisely, so you may want to take a look.

The general manager, who is also the owner, constantly changes his mind and does not know what he wants. He often dumps tasks on me that are outside my job responsibilities. We even had meetings after work without receiving overtime pay. Meetings often consisted of being berated. He always boasts about how many years of experience he has in the industry. The general manager was absent from the company about half the time, claiming to be out doing business development, but during the two months I worked there, he did not bring back a single client or project.

He claimed to dislike employees working overtime, but would give you tasks just before the end of the workday. If you could not finish them, he would say you were inefficient and that he could have finished them much faster. Once, because a project was entirely in English, I went in to help proofread on a holiday. On Monday, the general manager summoned me and asked why I had worked overtime on the holiday. He would check the surveillance cameras at unpredictable times, which was frightening, and he never considered why his employees were suffering so much.

More than six people left during the two months I worked there. The turnover rate was extremely high, and it was an awful company. Do not put yourself through this.

Run away! The reviews are all true. The general manager has absolutely no respect for professional expertise and likes to use his 30 years of experience in the building materials industry to shut you up. However, he completely disregards professional advice from web design and marketing, believing only that he is right. His level of stupidity is so extreme that he can even make you question your own professional abilities.

He likes employees to discuss things directly rather than guessing what each other means, but he cannot clearly explain what he wants himself. Once the result does not meet his expectations, he will use various methods to make you resign.

If you are unfortunate enough to join this company, and if you can stand it, you might consider holding out until he lays you off voluntarily, so you can receive an additional severance payment. (It is recommended that you ask him for it directly; otherwise, there is a chance he will pretend it never happened.)

At least this way, your PTSD will not be as severe.

Pros

Leaving work on time

Cons

Unprofessional people are expected to lead professionals in getting things done. Although the workplace seems open-minded, it is actually very conservative. There is no year-end bonus, which feels terrible. There is not much interaction among colleagues; everyone does their own thing, and even when help is needed, no one can really help because each area of expertise is handled by only one person. As a result, you will not make progress here. The salary is low. In short, it takes two to tango—go read the comments about this company and you’ll understand. By the way, the turnover here is really high. Don’t waste your time here unless you are truly desperate for a job.

Cons

The interview ended after just a few minutes, and I was immediately offered the job on the spot—I was dumbfounded. The job description was unclear, and no details at all were provided about the related year-end bonus or the three holiday benefits.

The office is extremely small, and the only supervisor is the general manager. The parent company is located on Heping East Road, and the office is almost entirely staffed by women. If you're a brave person who isn't scared off after reading other people's previous interview reviews, you're welcome to take on the challenge!

Pros

As mysterious as the Illuminati

Cons

Web designers really should not consider this company. There are no SOPs, people from outside the field manage those who know the field, and there are information gaps.

Management has also made it clear that the company needs to make money, so there is no time to design things for clients one by one. They just take templates, make a few changes to the content and colors, and call it done. They will even ask you to produce screens when the client has not provided any structure at all. One person may have several projects waiting for them. However, the thing that makes you happiest is that the company's backend team is at another branch, so whenever there is any problem while building a database for a website, you have to call the backend team—which has extremely poor communication skills—and troubleshoot with them. There is no other way.

Moreover, the company's version control is entirely FTP, because the backend team does not even know what Git is. And 360 Total Security as the company's antivirus software is just standard equipment!

The boss's famous saying: To me, both frontend and backend are just concepts of HTML

Pros

Cons

1. The company bonuses and benefits mentioned on 104 are actually all nonexistent, and there is no year-end bonus either.

2. The boss habitually lays off employees arbitrarily, resulting in an extremely high turnover rate.

3. Pretends to understand despite not understanding; there are many unreasonable demands. Everything is considered simple and expected to be completed quickly. Time is constantly being compressed.

4. Accesses employees’ computers.

5. Remember to take a photo of your time card; the numbers on it may change.

6. Being late results in a deduction from the perfect-attendance bonus, followed by a salary deduction calculated by the minute.

7. Turnover is extremely high, and information is often lost during handoffs.

8. Treats employees as disposable, deliberately assigning excessive workloads to force them to resign.

9. The staff is understaffed, so one person has to handle multiple roles.

The day you get paid

Cons

The boss goes back on their word time and time again. They respect copyright, but don't want to spend money.

There is no year-end bonus, and they show very little respect for professional expertise. Employees are often asked to grab and cobble together online materials just to meet a deadline. Assignments are frequently given right before the end of the workday, with the expectation that they be completed that same day, making overtime unavoidable. Yet they also dislike employees working overtime, while treating overtime as a symbol of being responsible. Employees are occasionally contacted via LINE after work hours to ask about progress.

Pros

For graphic design-related roles, this company does not take design or copyright seriously. When creating magazine advertisements for clients, the quickest way to produce and deliver them is simply for the graphic designer to steal images online and touch them up.
