Read the community guidelinesI applied for a graphic design position, and the manager explained that the company’s main source of profit comes from government contracts.
This is actually the industry I’m looking for, but I have no comment on the interview process.
Before the interview, I had to fill out my personal information and a questionnaire. One question asked about my mode of transportation. Since the company is very close to an MRT station, I wrote “MRT.”
I didn’t expect this question to be brought up for discussion. They kept asking about my commute time and why I didn’t ride a motorcycle if I had one, etc. (Was I expected to be available at a moment’s notice?)
The rest of the questionnaire was even more alarming. Here are a few questions I remember:
For management shortcomings: 1. Proactively offer suggestions 2. Protest 3. Remain silent
Methods of reward: 1. Verbal praise 2. Medals 3. Bonuses 4. Time off
Just looking at the questions made me feel intense emotional manipulation and pressure. Although the interview itself went quite smoothly, I later politely declined the offer.
They will tell you about the company's benefits.
The company declined to comment, but the manager is absolutely terrible—very fond of intimidation and explosive outbursts. The company also refuses to enroll employees in national health insurance just to save money. After I declined to report for work, they reported me to the job bank for failing to show up without reason, and even gave the wrong date. Their attitude is extremely improper; they absolutely refused to return my personal documents. They told me to pick them up at the store, then stood me up—outrageous. They didn't even feel embarrassed and instead demanded that I mail them to the company, saying they would only return my belongings after receiving them.
Summary: Terrible.
