Pros

Pros: Swapping cookies and candy is barely acceptable.

Cons

Cons: There are too many to list.

1. The food is terrible, and there are designated times for eating. If you miss the time, you have to buy food from the company store yourself. There are extremely few seats, so every few days, during heavy rain, you end up eating bread while sitting next to an ashtray.

2. The overtime culture is stuck in the previous generation. If you leave before working twelve hours on a regular day, your supervisor will highlight it. If you fail to come in on one of the two weekend days, that will also be highlighted. You will immediately receive an E for that performance review. Two Es or four Ds in performance reviews gets you kicked out directly. New hires receive an E for their first six months, no explanation given.

3. Internal conflict is severe. The infighting among the company's mid- and senior-level management is serious, driving away many talented experts and leaving behind some idiots who fool around inside.

4. The products have virtually no technical content. The company only makes low-margin, low-tech products with high substitutability—things that any number of factories in mainland China could make.

5. The machines, equipment, and tooling are mostly homemade or shoddy products made in mainland China. Equipment maintenance is extremely difficult, and R&D simply does nothing because the equipment is so poor. The products made by the equipment cannot even pass the company's own QC inspection.

6. For product and equipment maintenance parts, engineers are expected to purchase them themselves and prepare their own tools. The company provides no assistance or support whatsoever. Equipment and machines are constantly stolen from one another. A supervisor even said directly in a meeting that he would not get involved in equipment theft; if the equipment on your own line goes missing, the engineer on duty has to figure it out themselves.

Pros

An annual salary equivalent to 14 months, plus two additional months of bonuses (depending on circumstances). You can trade extremely long working hours for money.

Cons

1. You’ll work so much overtime that you’ll be completely exhausted. During regular workdays, you’ll be subtly pressured to stay late and work overtime. “In principle,” overtime can be reported, and the same applies to hours worked beyond the limit. In practice, your monthly overtime will always exceed the limit. You’ll also have to take turns working on holidays and night shifts, so the overall working hours are extremely long and exhausting—it’s practically no different from living at the company. You’ll be sacrificing your health by working yourself to the bone for money, and employee turnover is also high.

2. Your performance evaluation will be very poor if you don’t work overtime. If you leave on time in the department, you’ll be ostracized and eventually singled out and given a hard time.

3. You’ll have to figure out dinner and late-night meals yourself; the company does not provide them.

4. If you value quality of life or dislike the culture of glorifying overtime, don’t come here. If you’re deeply in debt, you can give it a try.

Pros

Pros

1. The base salary is average, but when benefits and bonuses are included, the annual income can be comparable to that of companies in leading industries. (For levels eligible for bonuses. Those not receiving bonuses are also around the median.)

2. There is a lot of overtime. Those looking to earn overtime pay may want to consider it. (For levels eligible for overtime pay)

Cons

1. Beware of the relatives-and-friends network!!! Some colleagues in relatively ordinary positions may be relatives or friends of very senior executives. Be careful not to offend them!!!

2. Keep your distance from colleagues who have been blacklisted by the relatives-and-friends network, to avoid being seen as part of the same group!!

If you accidentally run afoul of either of the above, your only option is to change companies. If you continue staying, you will just be struggling while people hold you underwater.

Sometimes baseless faults will be pinned on you (even if they are someone else’s mistakes; or even if you were merely passing by). Although there will be no disciplinary action, it still feels terrible, right!?

Otherwise, they may force you to transfer to a mainland China plant, and the position you are transferred to may not be in your area of expertise.

3. The issue of overtime

Some levels are still allowed to report overtime, but if your supervisor discovers that you reported overtime, they will sneer and ask you, “Is your position really suitable for reporting overtime? Isn’t that an OP’s prerogative?”

Put another way, the boss really likes everyone working overtime to get more things done, but opposes reporting overtime.

Many people often have to stay very late to produce data for the next day’s reports, etc. However, everyone is used to clocking out a little after eight and then returning to continue working on unfinished tasks. Once they are done, they leave via a route without a time-clock record (or ask a night-shift colleague to clock out for them), pick up their vehicle, and go home.

If everything is finished or has reached a stopping point, can you work normal hours? Personally, I recommend developing the habit of leaving work two hours late. Since many people do this, you will notice that some colleagues spend those two hours chatting, gossiping, shopping online, playing mobile games, smoking, and so on (when the boss is absent). When the boss is present, they may open emails, charts, and so on (sometimes these screens have been open since the morning or afternoon).

4. In some work areas, safety protections are not fully adequate. Please be especially careful and do not prioritize convenience.

Pros

No issues found so far

Cons

Poorly arranged interview process:

There were clearly only a few applicants. I arrived on time at 1:30 p.m., exchanged my ID badge to enter the facility, and filled out the application form. After that, I waited nearly two hours before anyone attended to me. Then I moved to a conference room and had to endure another long wait (they said the supervisor was busy), waiting for another hour. Although I was ultimately hired, this interview experience was truly bewildering...

Pros

A company that pays very well, but the workload is correspondingly intense.

If you’re short on money, you really can come here to earn it.

Overtime is paid whenever it’s scheduled, and there are additional bonuses.

This company does offer a lot of bonuses, but these bonuses are extra benefits—sometimes they’re available and sometimes they aren’t. Overall, it’s a fairly generous company.
