Pros

The company is very stable, like being a civil servant.

The work pressure in the company is not high, but working in the factory and providing engineering services is more arduous.

There are afternoon tea snacks and weekly group-buying orders. The company does not require clocking in, so the cost of working from home must be written separately.

Cons

The salary is very low. There is an annual salary adjustment, but it is only NT$300–700.

The year-end bonus is generous, but it is calculated based on the base salary rather than the full salary.

There are many older employees on the factory side, and they keep pushing responsibility around.

There are also many older employees on the company side; job assignments are extremely uneven, and most of the older employees have it very easy.

The upper management is quite incompetent and only knows how to scold and discipline people.

Pros

At the time, it was my first interview, so I was very happy.

The supervisor described their job as being like a civil servant (I didn’t know whether to put this under pros or cons).

Cons

The average age is relatively high.

There were three supervisors at the interview, putting on an air of being very experienced.

They assumed I came from a single-parent family and were full of prejudice against single-parent families.

Before even understanding the situation, they said, “Families with divorced parents usually...”

Good thing I didn’t get in.

Pros

An old-age company; in the headquarters division where I work, more than 60% of the employees are probably over 50. It used to make a lot of money and once paid a year-end bonus equivalent to 10 months' salary. Things aren't as good now, but it is still an oligopolistic business, so you can still receive a bonus equivalent to five months' salary (though it will be slightly less than your monthly salary each month).

Cons

There are actually many drawbacks. The common problem with large companies is that there are too many foolish things. The general manager only gives targets, without any strategy; you have to figure out the approach yourself. As long as the results are visible, that's all that matters. However, the people below usually find ways to embellish the results that the general manager will see—unless the results are too poor. In the elevator industry, I currently can't think of how disruptive innovation could happen. But if disruptive innovation really did emerge, this company might be in considerable danger.
