Pros

Has architecture.

Cons

At Kaohsiung National Giant Development Plant, the day and night shifts are each 10 hours, with only a 2-hour break in between. New hires earn just over 20,000.

Pros

There aren't many advantages; you could say there are none.

Cons

The boss is exploitative. The salary is around 30,000, and the working hours are 12 hours a day. It's really exploitative. Even random jobs pay around 30,000 and only require 8 hours. This job requires 12 hours for just 30,000. It's really awful.

Pros

Sexual harassment; supervisors do not take it seriously. They can deal with female colleagues they like.......

Cons

A word of advice to job seekers:

Unless you are completely desperate!

Even if you have no choice but to turn to shady industries, gambling, or the black market ...

only then should you come here for an interview or take a job!

When something goes wrong, everyone shifts the blame onto one another.

A small number of supervisors → treat employees as scapegoats to take the fall!

If you work here, it is recommended that you record and retain evidence of your supervisor’s instructions, meetings of all sizes,

and even conversations!

For the purpose of providing evidence later!!

Pros

The boss is very capable and very good at exploiting people.

Cons

The year-end bonus and management incentive bonus are not guaranteed amounts; they are entirely decided according to the boss’s mood. This year’s year-end bonus was terrible, and the incentive bonus (YMIP) was merely an amount meant to fob off beggars.

Interview at Dafang Factory: When HR mentioned that my current salary is over 100,000, they only replied that they couldn’t match it. After looking at the salary they offered, it was pitifully low (I calculated that even 60,000 for one equipment position would be a luxury), and shift work is simply disrespectful to people. Next came the interview with the equipment department supervisor. They never mentioned before the interview that there would be a test, then asked a bunch of textbook questions to assess a person. They were also bluntly unwilling to accept guesses. They should have thought about how, given the pitiful salary they offer, they have the nerve.

It only has the brand name of a large company; in reality, it is a sweatshop. They are unwilling to hire more people, expecting one person to do the work of three. The pay is extremely low—not that doing the work of three people means earning around 50K. It is very exhausting and offers little to no sense of accomplishment.

The working hours are long, the break time is short, there are not enough staff, and the pay is low. No wonder most of the workers are foreign laborers; perhaps foreign employees make up 40–60% of the workforce.

Considering current prices and future prospects, it is not suitable as a long-term job. Treat it as a stepping stone, work there for one or two years to gain some experience, and then move on.

Pros

1. My supervisor and senior colleagues are all very nice. There isn't much of a sense of hierarchy, and they are all very patient when teaching. It is rare to find such a work environment.

2. Instead of issuing a full uniform, the company provides uniform jackets as a substitute. This is much more convenient because there is no need to have several sets of work clothes to rotate through the laundry. You can simply put on the company's uniform jacket and go to work.

3. The cafeteria is large, and you can add extra dishes. There is also a welfare store where you can buy things and drinks, which is quite convenient.

Cons

Although this company is a large enterprise, I feel that it is stingy and unwilling to invest in talent. Each unit has four shifts but only four senior technicians, who have to manage so many pieces of equipment. When things get busy, they have to run up and down constantly. When things are less busy, the senior technicians can slowly teach me and take things apart piece by piece for me to see. But when things get busy, they have no way to spare any attention for me, so I can only watch from the side. I can understand their situation, but because I am a recent graduate entering the workforce, I cannot understand many of the parts and items, and this is also my first time encountering them. Therefore, even if I stand nearby and watch for a long time, I still cannot really understand what is happening.

I feel that what this unit currently needs is not a university graduate like me, who is starting from scratch, but experienced technicians should be hired first, with two people assigned to each shift. Only then should the company consider hiring someone like me, who has just entered the workforce. On the one hand, having one more person means having an extra pair of hands to share the workload. On the other hand, with two senior technicians, it would be easier for one person to respond to service calls while the other teaches, giving them more time. In fact, having two people on each shift would also mean that, even if they lacked experience, they would have someone to cover for them. Having a partner nearby makes it less frightening to do the work; at least, if you cannot handle something, there is someone behind you who can help. You also would not have to rush up and down constantly. Once the new hires became more experienced, each shift could have three people. With everyone working a four-team, three-shift rotation, things would be easier and the pressure would not be as great. People would not be so exhausted. To be frank, a 12-hour night shift is really tough; even eight hours is tiring enough. This is my suggestion to the company.

But returning to the main point, given the salary offered by the company, hiring an inexperienced university graduate like me is only just barely reasonable. Hiring experienced technicians would be extremely difficult. At this salary, not only would it be difficult to recruit them, the senior technicians currently in the units might not even stay. The company is also facing a potential crisis: this unit currently has low wages, too few staff, and excessively long hours, and these three factors are creating a vicious cycle. If this could be changed, I believe a raise after the evaluation period is essential—at least NT$3,000. For those with more experience and seniority, the increase should be even higher. If the salary were more competitive, there would not be a staff shortage. With more people, everyone could work eight-hour shifts more easily, reducing the hours and making this job much more stable. Unfortunately, the company truly does not value its talent.

Pros

The company’s policies are average.

Cons

Also, the female long-term employees there have pretty nasty mouths and are very good at taunting newcomers. The supervisors and the older female employees are extremely, extremely neurotic~

Normally, it’s perfectly natural not to understand anything when you’ve just started.

But they don’t care whether you’re new and immediately start yelling at and berating you~

“Why don’t you know how to do anything?! Don’t you understand?!” They’re unbelievably hysterical~ I lasted two months but still ended up leaving = ="
