The head office’s work environment is much like a factory, with cargo handling and office work taking place in the same space.
There are many employee factions (quite a few cliques), and the work environment has many older, auntie-like employees. There is little internal competitiveness, and many senior employees nearing retirement do not want to take on additional work. The company’s internal system has quite a few problems. The senior management are good people, but they have issues with their management abilities. The company lacks foresight.
The company is bright and comfortable, but that's about it.
During the interview, I was taken to a meeting room to fill out information, including the responsibilities I handled at my previous job, my salary, and my reason for leaving. There was no air conditioning in the meeting room, and I was not given any water, so it felt stuffy and hot.
After I finished filling out the information, two interviewers came in. They did not introduce themselves; as soon as they sat down, they asked about the responsibilities I handled at my previous job. This was the only question they asked me. From the very beginning of the interview, I felt like they had brought me in just to get it over with and send me away.
Throughout the entire interview, I felt like I was the interviewer because the only questions they asked were the ones mentioned above, followed by constantly repeating: “Do you have any questions?” “Do you have any questions?” “What other questions do you have?” “Do you have any questions?” (They invite someone for an interview, yet do not seem interested in getting to know the candidate at all.)
Finally, regarding the salary, it was completely inconsistent with the expected salary I listed on 104. If they thought my salary expectations were too high or that my available start date was too late, I do not understand why they invited me for an interview in the first place.
The interviewer was very courteous.
You’re expected to handle everything from equipment and process analysis and statistics to facility management and other miscellaneous tasks, but they’re unwilling to pay more. The salary and benefits are not attractive.
1. The interviewer was very polite
1. You have to handle miscellaneous tasks such as equipment, process analysis and statistics, and facility management. The pay isn’t high; you might as well work at Hsinchu Science Park.
