Most colleagues are easy to get along with

Although it is part of the Far Eastern Group, there have been more and more improper practices, so many people have recently resigned

The colleagues are nice, and the company building is very new.

Cons

1. If employees in the sales department leave work on time, they are considered not to be working hard, even if they did not chat or slack off during work.

2. There are too many reports and meetings, leaving no time to get work done: weekly reports, monthly reports, quarterly reviews, event reviews, and industry reports. Yet we are still told that our workload is not heavy.

3. It is easy to be harassed and treated as invisible when resigning.

4. Subordinates are expected to come up with the strategy, and company goals should also take frontline employees’ opinions into consideration.

5. The administrative and IT departments are overstaffed, while it is very difficult for the sales department to get things done.

The biggest takeaway is that the non-managerial colleagues are all very nice. You can also learn a lot from them and make some good friends.

Most working hours are devoted to various meetings and reports, leaving very little time to actually get work done. As a result, you often have to take your computer home to work overtime.

The supervisor also keeps track of female colleagues’ menstrual periods, supposedly because they may need to check whether menstrual leave has been taken improperly.

When you take sick leave, they will show concern, but they will check whether you actually saw a doctor and took medication.

They often sneak peeks at your computer screen and note which screen you have left open for a long time. You cannot use your phone for too long without being questioned (even when contacting clients); they may ask why you do not just make a phone call or send an email.

The environment is nice, and the Far Eastern Department Store is right next door.

They tout themselves as a tech company, but the internal systems they use will make you think you’re in ancient times. Sucking up is more important. The more efficient you are, the more tasks you’ll be assigned. You absolutely have to wait until your supervisor leaves before you can leave; otherwise, you’ll be considered someone who didn’t do any work and had too little to do. Once you submit your resignation, you will definitely be given a hard time, no matter how well you laid the groundwork beforehand.

The company environment is bright and located in the Baiyang Building in New Taipei City, near the Xinban commercial district.

The interview was arranged rather hastily: they called at 8 or 9 p.m. to schedule an interview for the following afternoon. There were two interviewers. During the interview, they had their own expected answers; when they heard something they did not want to hear, one of them would laugh, while the other would interrupt you. They spoke from a questioning perspective and challenged you based on your past experience. After cutting you off, when I asked for their thoughts on the questions they had asked, they told me to go home and study more.

Flexible working hours and a good work environment

There are contract positions and a system based on fulfilling responsibilities, with no overtime pay or compensatory leave. Apart from the salary, the other benefits can basically be said to be nonexistent. It is an affiliated company of the Far Eastern Group, but the boss is very stingy and may or may not give a year-end bonus. Turnover is very high, so you often have to take over other people's work, which is very annoying. After staying for two years, you're considered a senior employee.
