Pros

There are absolutely no advantages.

Cons

The boss is the only drawback. Enter at your own risk.

Bonus disclosure: The company’s water tower cannot switch to the water tank, so it is never cleaned. An unscrupulous company—the water is full of bugs.

Pros

None

Cons

1. Wanting to go to work in a bad mood every day is the biggest drawback! At work, I often hear the boss getting louder and louder while speaking in the meeting room. Sometimes she even yells and curses at employees like a mad person. The work environment is extremely tense! Even when I do what I am supposed to do, I still worry every day about being scolded over some trivial matter. “The boss and her son, the president, are extremely difficult to get along with! The boss and her son, the president, are extremely difficult to get along with! The boss and her son, the president, are extremely difficult to get along with!” This is such a crucial drawback that it needs to be said three times. When business is bad, they take it out on the employees, verbally abusing people every day; it is only natural that business is bad! If the boss dislikes you, she will keep giving you trouble, call you into the office to yell at you for no reason, and scold you unfairly.

2. When I interviewed, I applied for the position of HR specialist. After I joined, they told me that because the company did not have an independent HR department and I was placed under the Finance Department, they wanted to change my title to accountant. It was ridiculous. I told my supervisor that this was unreasonable, but the result was the same: they insisted on changing my title. They said the person who previously held the position was an HR-accounting employee, but the accounting duties had already been removed. Fine, the accounting duties were removed. Later, I do not know why, but I felt that someone might have stabbed me in the back. The boss misunderstood me and seemed to think I was always idle. In fact, just writing the employees’ paper-based one-fixed-day-off-and-one-flexible-rest-day weekly schedules every day took a lot of time, and during that period I also had to spend half a day every day calling people to recruit them. The boss started giving me trouble, saying that my job was not limited to these tasks and that the person who previously held my position had done many other things. She said that if I continued to be unable to get up to speed, it would prevent my supervisor from assigning me more work. (Accounting work?) The office is not even that large. It is truly laughable that a boss does not know what her employees are doing!

3. The president is someone who demands that everything be “consistent.” This is because they had treated employees poorly in the past, resulting in two former employees suing them and causing them to undergo a labor inspection. After that, they became very afraid and set extremely high demands for HR. They paid only a little, yet expected HR to endure enormous pressure. I heard that after once being fined following a labor inspection, the president returned to the office and pointed at the former HR employee’s nose, yelling, “Are you going to pay for this money?” He also slammed doors and punched walls. So afterward, whenever HR was required to do anything, signatures and dates had to be consistent, regardless of the practical difficulties involved. The president had an extremely severe obsession with nitpicking. For example, upon seeing inconsistent wording on leave applications (some older employees inevitably make occasional mistakes, even though I in HR did my best to check them), he could become extremely agitated over the tiniest matter.

4. The boss is also someone who likes to target individuals. When she likes you, she likes everything you say or do; when she dislikes you, she looks at you as if you were worthless and speaks without the slightest consideration for your feelings. She would even verbally bully employees. I was called “as stupid as anything” and many other unbearable things, and my coworkers were also frequently called into the office to be yelled at. However, I heard that the boss is very gossipy: as long as you are willing to tell her all your private matters and chat with her, and know how to please her, she will treat you especially well.

5. In short, working at this company involved a great deal of unreasonable treatment and grievances. Even after I resigned, I sometimes still dreamed that they were scolding me. The salary at this company was very low—extremely low. Also, there was no established system for raises; it depended entirely on the boss’s personal preferences.

6. There was no real HR system; everything was done in Excel. If you want to develop a career in HR, I advise you not to join this company. The supervisor was not an HR specialist either, but the head of Finance, so you really cannot learn much here!

Pros

A really terrible company

Cons

When they called me to notify me about the interview, I asked whether it would be okay if the receptionist had no language expertise. The HR person said yes, and that I could learn on the job!! But on the day of the interview, they told me Japanese proficiency was required, wasting my time and money!! Extremely unreliable—they were completely messing with me.
