Pros

The company name had actually already been changed to “奧爾仕” (104 Job Bank).

1. Young women and older women are welcome; as long as you’re a woman, you should be eligible.

2. Located in Taipei’s Da’an District, this tutoring and childcare center (near a kindergarten) has very low entry requirements. No specific field of study is required, and you can start and be hired very quickly.

Cons

There are actually quite a few rats and cockroaches running around. Everyone at work knows about it, and the supervisors know too, but they simply do nothing about it.

The director seems to enjoy palace intrigue and does not have much of a sense of justice. Even though she clearly knows that places with many women can become rife with conflict, she simply does nothing about it.

The director likes to say official-sounding things that seem very kind, but just look at those innocent women who were forced to resign and you will understand the saying, “The more a person lacks something, the more they like to emphasize it.”

If childcare-center staff privately give gifts to the supervisors (such as skincare products), they seem to be able to act high and mighty, while those who do not give gifts should expect to be neglected and made the scapegoat.

Every meeting feels like a waste of time. There is no need to hold them at all; people simply take turns seeking attention. They are completely meaningless, and everyone is required to speak.

The cleaning lady really likes to play the role of a surveillance camera and listening device. She often pretends to keep mopping the same spot while secretly listening to other people’s conversations, then goes and shares the information with the supervisors. Everyone knows about this.

The supervisors are extremely gullible, so employees have to work hard to “sow discord.” The supervisors believe them outright without even asking about the facts or determining right from wrong.

The salary structure is very strange, split into one payment after another. Is this to evade some kind of tax? You should also watch out for signs that it is gradually decreasing. The first month’s salary is only a little over 10,000, and they give you more only afterward. They will not honestly tell you this during the initial interview.

After working here, you probably will not want to entrust your own children to this place. The food is the frozen kind, with very little filling, and sometimes there are bugs in it. Although they claim to provide meals, adults do not get enough to eat and have to buy their own boxed meals outside.

Pros

1 There is Chinese food available, so you can save on lunch expenses

2 On-time working hours, with absolutely no overtime

Cons

The “Weisi After-School Care Center” attached to the kindergarten in Da’an District:

1 The supervisor’s abilities are not particularly good, and she also seems to have no real authority. At every meeting, she is constrained by the kindergarten principal and another supervisor, so the after-school care center’s teachers are somewhat divided and constantly fighting among themselves.

2 The standards of some colleagues’ words and behavior are very poor, and I do not know what criteria the principal uses when interviewing and hiring people. It feels like each generation is worse than the last, as though they are looking for cheaper people to gradually replace the existing staff.

3 The environment is not very hygienic; insects are often running around, and the air-conditioning facilities are also in poor condition. However, it seems that, in order to save money, the principal has not replaced them.

4 The standards of the parents vary greatly. Some take advantage of their status to bully others, but the principal does not seem to care about right and wrong and habitually shifts the responsibility onto the teachers. As a result, there is always a position with very high turnover.

Pros

Free lunch, but sometimes the menu is really not that great in an effort to save money.

Cons

Renamed Auerishi, but in reality there are many aspects that do not comply with the Labor Standards Act or the Education Bureau's requirements. Salaries are not high and raises are infrequent; some year-end bonuses are less than one month's salary. Employee trips and raffle opportunities are allocated based on seniority, and only those with more than 10 years of service receive comparatively better subsidies and prizes. They often recruit students from early childhood education departments as interns (if they decide to take the job and then terminate the contract, they have to pay compensation), so some leave after working for only a year. Teachers sometimes have to act like salespeople, recruiting students and promoting talent classes. There are many campus activities, so the workload can be quite demanding. Turnover among new teachers is fairly high, and job openings are frequently posted.

Pros

There is a free, nutritious meal every day at noon. That alone makes the benefits excellent.

At the time, I couldn't decide what kind of work to do, so I browsed 104 casually and submitted a large number of applications. Before long, the director of the Da’an District branch called to invite me to an interview. I was puzzled at the time— isn't the director a fairly senior position? Why wasn't it HR who arranged the interview? After I went, the interview lasted only a few minutes before the director said I should report to work the following Monday. I was hired so quickly—I could start earning money right away, and it felt very efficient. On the other hand, though, I also gave up other potential job opportunities...

The boss is very handsome

Cons

On the first day, the salary I wrote as my expected salary during the interview was very different from the salary shown on my payslip after I officially started working... At the time, I thought it might be made up later—the following month, the month after that, or perhaps the month after that...

Being assigned to support festival events can make people feel unfairly treated, because you don't know why you were assigned to a more physically demanding and thankless area where you have to stand in the sun all day, while others were assigned to indoor areas with air conditioning.

In principle, there are all kinds of unequal treatments almost every day at work. In particular, it could be described as a completely female-dominated environment, and even the people in charge seem unable to manage those beneath them very well.
