Pros

It can train your patience and ability to deal with listening to nonsense all day long,

and it can also test just how far your high EQ can be pushed—to an absolutely limitless extent.

I've seen plenty of scary clients, but the level of scariness of this company's clients is practically beyond imagination; it's almost impossible to think of any client who isn't scary.

It will make you go from completely distrusting online reviews to believing them wholeheartedly.

It will make you deeply understand the meaning of “money can't buy the chance to have known sooner” (Why did I give up the job opportunity at the other company back then?)

Cons

This one, huh—I can't finish explaining it by typing.

Stepping through the door was 1,000 percent the worst mistake I've ever made in my life!~ Let me just share my personal experience: 〈Of all my work experiences since I grew up, this is the one I most regret joining, the one I'm filled with the most hatred toward. I even feel like I must have owed these few bosses something in a past life or something. This is a company where every day brings a whole lot of unbelievable developments, and they're all stories that get dragged to an utterly limitless extent.〉

Pros

>The company has a coffee machine, and the beans are from “Coffee Bean Workshop” near the company. They’re not bad.

>The office provides free fruit, such as bananas and oranges, so you can eat some if you’re hungry.

>Most of the colleagues are basically nice people.

Cons

>The computers run extremely slowly; opening a single image takes a minute. Word also crashes frequently. When I brought this up with my supervisor, I was scolded: “The person who used this computer before never said anything about it?!”

>The supervisor speaks in a very sarcastic tone and takes out the frustration caused by being busy on subordinates.

>When new employees don’t do well, they are taught at first. Later, the supervisor gets annoyed and simply takes the work back and does it themselves, becoming even busier and more frustrated. But aren’t new employees—especially when this was my first job—supposed to be trained in the first place?

>The job involved conducting interviews that required a camera. After I said I didn’t have one, the supervisor said in a very unpleasant tone: “A camera is essential. Please prepare one in advance next time.” At the same time, however, the nice supervisor from the neighboring department said, “You can borrow the company camera!” OK, so which is it? This place has absolutely no system!

>Finally, on Thursday, my supervisor informed me, “I want you to work until the end of this week.” I don’t have any other work experience, but by common sense, this seems extremely strange. In my previous part-time jobs, whether from the employer’s or employee’s side, people were supposed to give notice early and give employees more time to make arrangements, right? What about people under financial pressure?

>This is a very typical Taiwanese company-style advertising agency: if you work overtime without pay, that’s your own problem, and if you leave on time, you’ll still be mocked (I heard it myself—the supervisor directly made fun of a colleague after they left on time). Some departments are very idle while others are extremely busy, so if you still want to apply, ask around first.

Pros

1. The colleagues are all very nice. Apart from complaining to each other, they also cover for one another at work, and they are great at helping and teaching.

2. There is a coffee machine, so it is very convenient to make tea or coffee.

3. The company is not very large, so it is convenient to use the multifunction printer and other equipment.

4. Sometimes they order unsweetened soy milk. It is quite tasty and healthy.

Cons

1. Not every department provides overtime pay. Even if you work yourself to death, it is useless, and the one fixed day off and one flexible rest day policy has not been of any use.

2. The boss is not very generous. They are extremely lavish with outsiders but really stingy toward employees.

3. The boss often calls colleagues in for a chat for no particular reason. They are a very eccentric person who brings people in to say pointless things and keeps saying that so-and-so should be fired. The problem is, those people have nothing to do with me!

4. The head of a certain department is especially favored by the boss, and the boss is blind to the situation as well—the two of them are exactly alike. The boss even tells subordinates, “We cannot refuse my manager; that would be wrong, right?”... Does that mean if they tell me to eat shit, I have to eat shit?

5. The managers love scheming against one another.

6. Women really need to be careful~ Don’t wear off-the-shoulder clothes or anything similar, because the boss will get handsy. The worst part is that the boss’s wife is at the company too!!

7. I once went with the head of a certain department to visit a client, and we took a taxi there. After getting a receipt, they said that our department could not claim taxi expenses and that we had to pay out of pocket.

Then, in the taxi, the manager complained to us about how tired and annoyed they were and so on. Nobody complains to people above or below them like that, right?

8. Sometimes I go out on interviews with the manager. While we are out, the manager chats and socializes with clients, eats constantly, and, when the camera flash sometimes fails to fire, keeps muttering from behind that it did not flash. Obviously I know that. Even after I told the manager what was wrong, they still did not believe me.

9. The head of a certain department holds multiple positions and is extremely busy, but refuses to delegate authority. As a result, things given to clients are sometimes delayed, and then the blame is placed on subordinates.

10. The company really treats business trips as something incredibly impressive, wonderful, and rewarding.

11. When requesting leave or annual leave, they keep asking for the reason. You cannot even take time off and disconnect, because you will be tagged nonstop in the Line work group chat. That is not really a vacation, is it?

12. Do not pay too much attention to the job description given during the interview, because in the end you may be transferred to the editorial department, where the nature of the work is completely different.

13. I do not understand why they do not actively interview professional journalists. You cannot even find recruitment postings on 104 or 518; instead, they keep filling the positions with people from within the company.

Pros

1. Sometimes, when there are no projects, the workload is genuinely very light.

2. Most colleagues are easy to get along with.

3. The boss occasionally travels abroad. When the boss is away, the company is practically heaven on earth.

Cons

The advantages you initially think you have will eventually all turn into disadvantages. The boss seriously thinks he is an emperor.

1. The boss often fires employees whenever he is unhappy, asking them to leave "immediately." Colleagues are even told to move the person’s computer away directly, without allowing them to organize or delete their files.

2. You may think that monthly birthday parties and birthday cash gifts are benefits, but employees actually pay welfare committee fees every month, and what they receive is not necessarily proportional.

3. The boss and the boss’s wife often yell at people in the company, affecting everyone’s mood and creating a tense atmosphere.

4. A certain department manager engages in office politics, likes to take screenshots or lie to smear colleagues, and has driven away many outstanding employees. However, the boss likes this person very much, so other colleagues have to work with their hands tied, afraid of offending them.

5. The editorial department works overtime until the early hours of the morning without receiving any overtime pay. Employees are also constantly pressured to submit drafts and are treated as if they were being trained like dogs.

6. The company plays favorites, and benefits vary. The boss gives things only to people he likes, without considering their abilities. So if you want to get ahead, you have to scheme and compete for position. Once you are favored, everything goes smoothly—but you can become disfavored just as quickly as you became favored~~

7. The boss often makes physical contact. If you are a woman, be especially careful: putting an arm around someone’s shoulder, touching their hair, putting an arm around their back, shaking hands, high-fiving, and similar behavior are common. Try not to handle business alone outside the company with the boss.

8. Raises are available, but applying for one is difficult; generally, the supervisor has to propose it.

9. Employees have to pay for company trips themselves and use their own vacation days. If they do not have leave available, their pay is deducted.

10. The boss is highly suspicious and does not like colleagues becoming too friendly with one another. The boss may try to separate them or fire one of them.

11. The boss dislikes people who smoke.

12. All of the company’s projects are urgent. Management has no patience, and clients act as though they are royalty.

13. The sales team is very good at holding other departments back. If you work in sales, being scolded by the boss is simply part of everyday life.

14. Company trips consist of itineraries that clients were unable to sell, and employees are made to pay to purchase them. If employees do not buy them, they cannot get back the welfare subsidy either.
