Pros

They often claim in meetings that they aim to reach several hundred million, and they have ambitious plans for the company's future development and overseas operations.

Cons

A very strange company. The boss does not really manage things; instead, his daughter, the eldest princess, is in charge. There are no principles for doing anything—it's a case of too many people giving orders. They do not like hearing the truth; they only listen to pleasant words and scold those who speak nonsense. There is also a petty person close by who often monitors everything that happens in the office. This even includes having to report every single instance of urinating inaccurately in the toilet. Working here means knowing how to flatter people and curry favor with petty individuals. Otherwise, there is no future at all.

I advise anyone considering working for this company to think carefully about whether they know how to use sweet talk before joining.

Pros

Complies with the Labor Standards Act.

The deputy manager of the Materials Department is an energetic and positive person with strong execution skills, unlike what other reviews say—that he only talks without taking action.

Cons

The office atmosphere is poor, with departments scheming against one another and coworkers doing the same.

Senior coworkers do not want to teach you anything. They will not even tell you which area you are responsible for cleaning. If you finish cleaning early, your coworkers will nitpick: “Did you really sweep? Did you wipe here?” So remember: cleaning is something you have to perform for everyone to see.

The final reason I decided to resign was that, during the lunch break, I did not return to the office to look at my phone until 12:50. The next day, my coworkers surrounded me and said that the sound of my mouse during lunch had disturbed their rest, and even claimed to have a recording as proof. If you simply press a mouse a few times while recording with your phone, how can you tell when it was pressed or who pressed it? If I had to keep dealing with these baseless accusations, it would probably cut my life expectancy in half.

During lunch breaks, typing and working by people at the deputy-manager level or above is treated as a heavenly lullaby, while a new employee clicking a mouse is described as though they had pressed a three-and-a-half-ton speaker.

There is a culture of pretending to be busy in the office after work. Since I was an intern, I stayed behind to see whether I could help with anything. In the end, everyone was just chatting and browsing the web, then telling others that they were busy until 9 p.m. every day without applying for overtime.

However, the deputy manager did not seem to care whether you stayed late to work overtime; he only cared whether you handled things properly. So the next day, I stopped participating in the charade.

The above describes my own department, but this company’s turnover rate is truly frighteningly high. I don’t know whether that is because the company has many employees or whether other departments have their own problems as well. During my first week on the job, someone resigned on four of the days.

Following the Labor Standards Act... Is that really an advantage...? It should be the bare minimum.

There is an annual company banquet and year-end bonus. The Third Plant currently doesn't have many senior managers, and the plant environment is still okay. That's about it.

Cons

Working at the Third Plant feels like being in Southeast Asia. Most of the workers on-site are foreign workers, and the company provides no further training. People often talk past each other, and we simply have no idea what the foreign workers are trying to express or what they need. Reports are often filled out incorrectly—either too much or too little is recorded—causing the warehouse staff to be unable to reconcile the accounts. They don't even know how much they themselves produced, and there have even been cases where products were missing components. It's absolutely outrageous. The on-site supervisors are essentially nonexistent and can't even manage the foreign workers.

It's a family business, with all kinds of favorites rising to the top. Management likes to hear flattering words and has flights of fancy; implementation begins with zero planning, leading to problems later, followed by constant remedial efforts and cleanup. This makes it increasingly difficult for the people below to do their jobs.

There are two people at the plant who act like the bosses' right- and left-hand men, especially when it comes to food—they are the most proactive. With certain matters, they keep going around in circles. Even when something simply doesn't exist, they insist on repeatedly confirming it countless times; they still don't believe it even after seeing it with their own eyes. They are very good at pretending to be busy and cherry-picking tasks. Whenever something goes wrong, they push the blame onto administrative assistants, sales staff, and the like. They make it sound as though they have no problems at all—one of the sources of chaos.

There are more and more products and more and more work, yet the compensation for the same position is lower than in Taichung. Taichung is constantly complaining about a lack of storage space, so everything gets sent to the Changhua plant.

Pros

The work environment is fairly bright and clean.

But I absolutely do not recommend it; the interview experience was quite poor.

Cons

At around 10 p.m. the night before, I was notified that the interview would be at 8:30 the next morning. The time could not be changed because the supervisor was going to the Changhua plant that afternoon. (But in the end, the interview was not even conducted by the supervisor who supposedly had to rush to Changhua ⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎ I’ll elaborate later.)

When I arrived at 8:30, I discovered that it was a group interview, with fewer than about 10 people. First, we filled out résumés and completed an online math and logic test and a psychological assessment. After the HR manager gave everyone an overview of the company, we completed the online tests and were then taken aside individually for interviews.

First, I saw some people being taken away for interviews at around 9:30. After waiting for more than ten minutes, the HR manager told the man sitting across from me that the supervisor for the position he had applied for had not arrived at the company yet. The manager asked whether he had somewhere urgent to go and whether he could wait about 15 minutes. Of course, the man said yes. Meanwhile, another woman at a different table and I continued to be left hanging, with no idea how long we were supposed to wait—or whether they had never intended to interview us at all. Were we the batch they had given up on?

By the time my phone was almost out of battery, it was nearly 11 a.m. when the HR manager finally appeared. The other woman and I had applied for the same position, so we were interviewed together. Our self-introductions and brief interview took about five minutes in total. We waited idly for an hour and a half, only to be interviewed for two minutes each?

They also did not tell us the salary, saying it would only be discussed if we were hired ⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎ The actual direct supervisor did not appear for the interview either; it was still conducted by the HR manager from the beginning. This did not match the information I had received the previous night, so were the rest of us just there to make up the numbers?

Finally, at 6:30 p.m., I was notified that I had been hired. The reason was that the supervisor apparently liked me quite a lot? The interview lasted only two minutes—what a question mark. They also never mentioned overtime pay from beginning to end. During the interview, they made many people wait for more than an hour, even though the stated working hours ended at 5 p.m.; all notifications were sent outside working hours. It is easy to imagine that this company’s time management is extremely poor. If I actually reported for work, I would probably be required to work unpaid overtime every day with no conditions, right?

The second generation has taken over. The company is of a decent size, yet it acts as if it were a publicly listed corporation. There is not much to say about the salary and benefits—it is simply a traditional manufacturing company.

Pros

The boss’s daughter understands planning, and the company understands marketing.

Cons

As a family business, things can be handled very quickly, but relatively speaking, there are no established guidelines, and the same matter may be handled in many different ways.

Whether managers or colleagues, they conceal hostility behind smiles. On the surface, there is an overwhelming amount of positive energy, but beneath it the situation is turbulent, and it is very easy to be stabbed in the back. To get by there, you need to know when to play dumb.

The foreign workers on-site are very disrespectful toward women, but the company’s colleagues turn a blind eye and may even mock you.

Pros

Working at the Dacun Plant 3 is a lot like working in Southeast Asia, because everyone there is Vietnamese. They even play Vietnamese music over the loudspeakers. Anyone who wants to experience working in Southeast Asia might want to consider it.

Cons

Last year, the supervisors at Dacun Plant 3 drove out a group of Taiwanese employees. Now all the machines are controlled by Vietnamese employees. The supervisors are afraid of being replaced by newly hired Taiwanese employees, so they specifically instructed the Vietnamese employees not to train new Taiwanese hires on the machines. Taiwanese employees can only move heavy materials, stack pallets, unload containers, and so on behind the machines. In any case, Taiwanese employees are always the ones who do the rough and exhausting work first. One supervisor’s girlfriend is even Vietnamese. It is difficult for Taiwanese employees to improve their situation. Day after day, once your arms become so sore that you can no longer lift them, that is when you will quit.

Pros

The company’s senior management and supervisors are very good at planning the company’s development goals. It is a very ambitious company.

Cons

There are too many ambitions, with multiple carriages rushing around chaotically and no direction whatsoever; when it comes to the company’s goals, there is absolutely no ability to execute—everything just sounds good; employees are dismissed quite often, and usually with very little notice: a meeting in the morning, and you’re out in the afternoon; colleagues are calculating and like to flatter senior management, often stabbing other colleagues in the back; the company’s senior management likes to listen to gossip; to survive at this company, you have to know how to flatter people, be wary of your colleagues, and work diligently—but serving the ruler is like accompanying a tiger, and it is difficult to guard against malicious people. No matter how outstanding or careful you are, you could still be smeared. Good luck to everyone :)
