Pros

I never imagined I’d get to experience being treated like a disposable pair of chopsticks. It’s truly one of life’s great jokes.

Cons

Shrimp Intelligence = Xuanpin = Ruishi

1. They recruit talent under the name Shrimp Intelligence, then assign them to other subsidiaries under the name of the assigned unit. I don’t understand the purpose of this arrangement.

2. They constantly criticize employees for making no progress and having poor technical skills, yet cannot provide objective evidence or specific supporting data. Meanwhile, employees can provide concrete data showing how much they contributed to getting the project accepted. This company turns a blind eye to that and calls itself Ruishi—it’s truly laughable.

3. A verbal agreement to come into the office once a month became a requirement to come in every week. Not only did they violate the agreement, they even used incorrect information to confuse employees, apparently trying to hire experts with peanuts. Quite amusing.

4. The V.小姐 who handles salary calculations can only say, “I don’t understand; I can’t follow up on progress.” Indeed, she understands nothing and cannot even handle basic core tasks properly. I suggest starting over from scratch.

5. Mr. V., who is presumably part of management (I genuinely don’t know who this person is), is skilled at emotional blackmail and insulting people without using profanity. He is a self-righteous braggart. When dealing with him, don’t take what he says too seriously. I also suggest starting over from scratch.

6. They posted false salary information on recruitment platforms, and the salary structure itself has problems. This is a company that needs to engage in serious self-reflection.

To the company employees reading this: run while you can. The management keeps shamelessly manipulating the reviews because no one dares to blow the whistle.

If you still have doubts after reading this, please don’t wander into this mire. I only learned after being hired for some time that this company had so many negative reviews. Think carefully before making your decision.

I have evidence to support everything I have said. If you disagree, take it up with me.

When I first saw everyone’s reviews, I thought I should go and see for myself.

The interview process wasn’t too complicated. The interviewer mainly asked about professional matters. It’s an innovative company, suitable for people who are passionate.

I directly asked the interviewer what they thought about the comments online. They said the company doesn’t address unofficial remarks.

The world is never short of daily reviews and comments.

Many comments are based on the reviewer’s personal perspective on the job.

Much of the criticism is simply intended to rationalize the reviewer’s own statements,

so the company does not respond to it.

The interviewer mentioned something that resonated with me:

Regardless of whether you like the company or not, you shouldn’t use a few words based on your personal perspective to influence or criticize it.

I look forward to the interview result. I’m almost thirty.

My takeaway from the interview is that online comments written with strong emotions don’t seem to be very valuable as references.

Just give it a try.

Cecelia

The interview went very quickly; everyone seemed to be very busy.

Once you’ve trained there, you’ll be the strongest person in every company you work for afterward.

Cons

The boss maliciously withheld wages and lacked integrity; I even had to go to court to get the money back.

There was too much work to ever finish. The PM was extremely incompetent and, whenever there was a problem, would say that I didn’t understand IT and completely shirk responsibility. So after Xuanpin closed down, the boss asked him to leave.

There was an endless pile of unfinished work, the company could keep losing money, and the project would never be completed.

The boss only knew how to take on projects, not how to manage and execute them; his management skills were extraordinarily poor.

Not counting me, there were about five people when I joined. Those five people left one after another, and even the supervisor resigned.

I actually got to experience being treated like a disposable chopstick—it was truly one of life’s great absurdities.

Cons

Ruishi = Simple Technology

They recruit people under the name of Ruishi Computing, then assign them to other subsidiaries under the name of the dispatching unit. I don’t understand the purpose of this arrangement.

While stationed at a government agency, you are also required to support other projects. Senior employees form their own cliques to bully newcomers, making sarcastic remarks and even saying that he was hired as the deputy director of the Southern Transport Bureau. They also probe whether the company has recently assigned you any tasks, as if they are afraid you will take their job.

Finally, when nearly six months had passed, they tried to pressure the person into becoming afraid to go to work (I’m not some naive newcomer fresh out of school), then made a move under the pretext that “if you want to condemn someone, you can always find a charge,” kicking the person out that very day because the company had suffered losses on another project. They only complied after the Labor Standards Act was brought up, and even then, they had to be reminded to give ten days’ advance notice.

It really is a company that's all show and no substance.

During the interview, they made it sound nice, saying everyone could help each other and work as a team. Not long after being hired, though, you were basically left to fight on your own.

It was completely like working in insurance sales, relying entirely on your own ability to cold-call and find clients.

Just when a prospect finally seemed promising, some bizarre procedures, logic, or practices would always discourage people from moving forward.

When something seemed wrong and you slowed things down to protect the client from being scammed, they would, as described above, start emotionally blackmailing you and launching personal attacks.

Early in the morning, someone would sit there like a homeless passerby, pretending nothing was happening, and casually say strange, disgusting things to different male and female colleagues depending on their mood.

Finally, as the nearly three-month probationary period was coming to an end, they found ways to pressure the other person until they became afraid to come to work (I’m not some naive newcomer fresh out of school), then pulled out the move of fabricating charges—when you’re determined to convict someone, you can always find a pretext—and kicked them out for allegedly being absent without leave.

In more than ten years in the workforce, this was the first time I had encountered such a scoundrel. Because there were no safeguards and the electronic clock-in records could not be preserved as evidence, I was unable to report them and could only seethe with anger at having encountered such an unscrupulous villain.

Years later, after seeing so many people speak up here, I realized that this person truly has no ethical bottom line—and that so many others had also been victimized.

Guaranteed to be hired, because they’re severely short-staffed.

Cons

Even after your shift has ended, if you miss the boss’s last-minute call at 11 p.m. or midnight asking you to go on a business trip, you’ll be harshly berated and insulted, told that you’re irresponsible and subjected to all kinds of sarcastic remarks. The customer is always right—even if they ask you to wake up at five or six in the morning to handle an urgent customer matter, that’s considered justified. They never stop to think about why so many employees leave every month. How many is “so many”?

Roughly, they hire one person and 10 leave, one of whom is a newcomer who escapes not long after joining.

Your salary is never paid on time. If you manage to receive reimbursement for expenses you advanced, consider yourself lucky, although you’ll probably have to wait more than three months. You have to provide your own laptop (otherwise, they’ll tell you to buy one yourself first and submit a reimbursement claim, but they absolutely will not give you that money). The finance department will only fob you off by saying they forgot to make the transfer, but they can’t close out projects at all—they don’t even have enough money to pay the penalties owed to clients.

Treat joining this company as doing a good deed; otherwise, even asking for the salary you’re owed means humbly lowering your voice while being berated by finance. Even if you’re lying in a hospital bed receiving an IV, you’re still expected to come into the office. ^^

A notorious company!

Cons

I really don’t understand how desperate this company is for people!

Through 104, they scheduled two interviews with me in a row, but neither time worked for me. I never agreed to attend an interview, and I never received a call from them. Yet I ended up receiving a no-show notification from 104?! WTF!! There was never even an interview arranged, so how could I have been a no-show?! I’m speechless... No wonder this is a notorious company. It was definitely the right decision not to go to the interview!

The following contains no false accusations or emotional statements;

it is simply a factual account:

1. As of the end of February 2021, in a period of less than approximately four months, the company went from more than one hundred employees to just over seventy, with a turnover rate of approximately 20%. The turnover rate at ordinary companies is usually no higher than 15%. Excluding managerial positions, very few people stay at this company for two years.

2. Before the Lunar New Year in February 2021, the vast majority of employees at the company did not receive the year-end bonus discussed during their interviews. They received only symbolic amounts ranging from 2,000 to 5,000. However, most positions stated during interviews and in the benefits and compensation system on the job bank that there was a “guaranteed 14 months of salary.” As of February 28, there had been no official statement.

3. To supplement the explanation of the “guaranteed 14 months of salary” mentioned in point 2: According to the pay slips, for a certain number of employees, “salary” consisted of “base salary” plus the total of “bonuses under various names,” which raises suspicion of underreporting salaries. Even so, the method of calculating “base salary” should not involve bonuses ranging from 2,000 to 5,000.

The above is provided as a reference for those currently applying to Shāmi/Xuānpǐn.

If you are a new employee who joined recently, please carefully consider whether you want to stay.

Pros

The boss has an extremely poor character...

Has no sense of responsibility.

Never thinks about execution. Takes on projects recklessly, and when they cannot be completed, blames colleagues. Meetings are supposed to solve problems, but he just talks nonsense throughout.

Always tries to take advantage of small benefits.

For every filming project, he cuts costs here and there and slashes the budget. The boss does not understand filmmaking at all but loves to pretend that he does. As a result, from the time the company first started taking on video-production projects until now, it has not been able to produce a presentable work. However, the boss uses employees’ work from their previous companies as promotional material.

He is extremely petty. In fact, perhaps every boss is like this, but as mentioned above, the boss is very fixated on employees’ working hours. He singled out one colleague and claimed that the colleague owed him work hours, so he checked the records. It turned out that the colleague worked an average of seven minutes of overtime every day. The boss was immediately proven wrong, but was still unhappy and said that those seven minutes were spent packing up their belongings before leaving work (extremely childish).

Difficult to communicate with and unwilling to accept professional opinions.

This explains why the company’s turnover is so high. Anyone with skills, ideas, or experience definitely will not stay for more than six months. He previously aggressively recruited media-buying staff, but in the end they all left.

Lacks workplace ethics.

This is the most outrageous company I have ever heard of when it comes to delaying payments. A certain studio was not paid for more than a year and several months (and the amount was not even large), yet the company shamelessly sent that studio another project the following year. A certain director also had to make repeated requests before finally being paid. There is much more...

Working environment:

The desks are extremely, extremely small and do not even have drawers. The company does not provide computers, so you have to prepare your own—and preferably a Mac, because he will think you are impressive. There is no air conditioning after 6 p.m., and air circulation is extremely poor. It is even worse in summer. If there is construction downstairs or work on an exhibition, the air quality is even worse.

Just take what is written on 104 at face value. What you hear during the interview should also be taken with a grain of salt.

He has been saying for three years that the company would go public, but it still has not happened.

“Full-service advertising and media company”—uh... yes, it is indeed full-service, but it does everything poorly. It cannot even carry out projects properly after discounting the price, then says the project was unprofitable. Otherwise, during meetings with clients, he randomly proposes solutions and gives away all sorts of things, increasing the difficulty or working hours required for execution.

“Within the industry, we have a very strong competitive advantage.” I have no idea where that confidence comes from... It is probably because he keeps giving things away—he gives away everything. Oh, and he also tells new employees, “We are the whales at the top of this industry’s food chain...” (Rolling my eyes—you’re more like a shrimp, aren’t you?)

His business philosophy is: “Grow together with our colleagues and share profits with our colleagues.” That is not the case. The boss is very selfish and only cares about enjoying himself. He claims the company is not making money, yet buys a Mercedes-Benz and has a flashy way of doing things.

When you have time, you can take a look at their ridiculous news—so absurd~~

The boss simply goes wherever he sees something that seems profitable. He has never had a clear development direction. Recently, he discovered mobile games, so... I will say no more.

That’s all.

Having worked at this company, I can confirm that everything stated above is absolutely true without exaggeration. To add to that, almost every week a colleague leaves, and every week there is a farewell dinner for colleagues. The two evil bosses repeatedly emphasized that they did not want colleagues to become too close, but instead this strengthened the bond among the colleagues.

When you’re still the boss’s favorite, you dress up attractively every day, and he takes you everywhere with him and drinks with you every day. But once he has a new favorite, he says, “You dress like this every day—who knows where you go at night?” It’s outright sexist sexual harassment.

I worked at this company for two years and never received a bonus—not even once.

The boss is always saying that we all have to weather tough times together,

then goes and buys a Mercedes for himself.

Year-end bonuses and the bonuses for the three major holidays are all handed out based on the boss’s mood.

Those who are singled out get absolutely nothing;

those who are favored get everything.

The company description on 104:

Grow together with our colleagues and share profits with them.

Please judge for yourself.
