Pros

Two days off every week; public holidays are off.

Labor and health insurance provided, with bonuses on the three traditional holidays.

There are always snacks and drinks available in the office.

Overtime is not encouraged.

If you want to work on 3D art for military equipment, you can come here to hone your skills.

Cons

1. Pay slips are often not provided. Strangely, aren't they automatically issued by the system?

2. The engine used requires an extremely large investment in learning. Importing is troublesome, and the manual cannot be fully trusted; everything requires experimenting while working.

3. The reason overtime is not encouraged is that the boss does not want to pay overtime. Even when working overtime on holidays to meet project deadlines, there is still no overtime pay.

4. The boss usually has a very bad attitude, and it feels like it would not be surprising for them to scold people at any time.

Pros

Two days off per week; public holidays off; labor and health insurance provided; annual leave follows the Labor Standards Act; the office provides snacks and cookies; mentally challenging work

Cons

1. No bonuses for the three major holidays. Payslips are not provided on time, and sometimes are not provided at all. If you ask the boss whether they can provide your payslip, they may even snap at you, “Wasn’t it already given to you?” You check again, and it still hasn’t been provided.

2. There is no such thing as “training.” You are expected to get started immediately. After spending a great deal of time producing something, if the boss is dissatisfied, it is simply considered a poor piece of work. If you spend that much time and still cannot do it well, you can only wait to be lectured and scolded.

3. Overtime can only be exchanged for overtime pay; this is an unwritten workplace rule. If you apply for compensatory leave on your overtime form, the boss will not approve it. The form will be left pending for a long time, at which point you know perfectly well that it clearly will not be approved. You can only withdraw the request and exchange it for overtime pay instead.

4. The boss says overtime is not encouraged, but whenever a project is rushed, the entire company works overtime. The Labor Standards Act stipulates that extended working hours may not exceed 12 hours per day, but there have genuinely been cases where people worked more than 12 hours while being allowed to report only 4 hours of overtime. Some colleagues have even worked at the company until the early hours of the morning before going home, then gotten up early to work as usual the next day.

5. The boss is very impolite toward employees, possibly because they are the boss and consider themselves superior. There is no established system; whatever the boss says goes, and the boss’s word is everything. The boss also often says that method A is correct, then later changes their position and says method B is correct, resulting in colleagues who followed method A being scolded. If the boss happens to be wrong about something, they cannot bring themselves to admit it. ^^.

6. The boss has a bad temper, so avoid one-on-one conversations whenever possible.

7. Little pay, lots and lots and lots of work.

Pros

Sorry, I really can’t think of anything.

Cons

They keep saying that the company requires no overtime. You should normally do everything possible to do what needs to be done properly, and do it as well as possible. If you have to work overtime, that’s your problem.

Pros

1. Paid leave for menstruation is available.

2. Colleagues are easy to get along with.

3. The entry requirements are low.

4. Located near Feng Chia, with convenient transportation.

5. Broadens your horizons and shows you what kinds of companies and bosses are out there.

6. It can test your patience and dignity. If you can endure it, you will do well anywhere.

Cons

1. There are no benefits whatsoever—only the base salary and labor and health insurance. The base salary is extremely low. There is no year-end bonus in the first year, not even red envelopes, and no bonuses for the three major festivals. There is nothing.

2. The boss has a bad temper; avoid him whenever possible. Meetings with him are like going to war. He speaks very loudly, and once he starts berating people, he can continue for 4–8 hours, leaving you in a terrible mood at work. He often gets angry over trivial matters and can yell back and forth for no reason. He also frequently speaks badly about former employees to their faces, only to later discover that it was not the former employees’ fault. When work is done well, he will not praise you or say anything, but if something is not done well, he switches into yelling and screaming mode, along with personal attacks. If he is unhappy, he will even hang up on employees directly. In short, the boss has terrible character and treats employees very badly.

3. Basically, there is no employee training whatsoever. They just want you to be immediately productive, and their demands are unreasonable—if you do not know how to do something, it is because you are stupid.

4. Salaries are paid in cash envelopes. It is best to request bank transfers, so that when you file taxes the following year after leaving, you do not discover that your salary was overstated without having payment records to report the company. Unless you keep all the salary envelopes.

5. You will be criticized for taking leave and told that you are causing the company trouble. They may say nothing when you request leave, then bring it up later to criticize you.

6. The boss believes that whoever pays is the boss. He once said to employees directly, “Why would you take someone else’s salary and suffer for it?”

7. It is a responsibility-based system, and there is no overtime pay. They say that not many projects are accepted and that the schedules are stretched out, so basically projects should not be unfinished—unless you lack ability, in which case you should stay late and work overtime to learn properly. When I joined, they said overtime would only happen near the end of a project, but after I joined, employees working to meet project deadlines worked until 5 a.m.

8. It does not offer the salary or scale of a large company, yet it expects a small number of employees to meet the standards and quality of a large company.

9. There is little structure; everything is decided by the boss.
