Treat yourself like a mindless person and work will be enjoyable: do whatever you’re told, and if there’s a problem, it’s someone else’s problem. Don’t think—thinking will only make you unhappy. Salaries are paid regularly, but don’t expect bonuses, year-end bonuses, or anything like that.
The boss is insecure and likes to dream. They are always thinking about grand, enormous plans but don’t want to pay the costs. They also love talking about their supposedly glorious success stories from ten years ago, repeating them over and over without getting tired of it. Meetings lack focus and go around in circles. The supervisors lack the professional skills they should have—the higher-ranking they are, the worse it is. The sales team often cannot explain requirements clearly, leaving them ambiguous and vague; they avoid committing themselves in case something goes wrong and they have to take responsibility. The design manager shirks responsibilities and relies on seniority. Because they are very obedient, whenever there is a dispute at work, the boss will step in to support them. No matter how serious the matter is, once the boss comes out and smooths things over, it is considered settled. After everyone’s reactions prove ineffective for long enough, they become indifferent. If you want to work happily, just be mindless. That’s all.
