Pros

Flexible working hours, giving employees in each region maximum autonomy, and welcoming people with entrepreneurial ideas to join.

Cons

Clients are primarily in the retail and service industries, and the length of collaborative working hours varies.

Cons

1. They place a strong emphasis on communication, but by their definition, communication is probably only one-way.

2. There is 24-hour on-call duty, but they often cannot be reached (same as above—one-way communication).

3. They entice people to join with shares as compensation, yet communicate with this level of quality; it is really awful.

4. It is unclear whether the stock is worth anything, but their intention to get things for free is very obvious.

I was looking for a job three years ago and applied after seeing that it was remote. I ended up getting criticized for having too high a salary at the time and was advised to stay at my original company (what’s it to you^_^?).

The remote section is appealing

Cons

They verbally promised to hire me, but kept delaying the offer letter. They also asked me to learn the system first (WTF). They didn’t even provide a basic hiring notification before adding me to the group chat. In the end, they read my messages without replying, then said, “We feel you might not adapt well” (^-^)

Pros

The fully remote work arrangement is quite appealing.

The company's product is currently in a rapid expansion phase (in terms of market share and cross-industry reach), so it seems to have potential.

I was curious about the company's turnover after seeing online reviews from four or five years ago. They told me that the core team members have been with the company for 2–5 years, so perhaps the situation has improved compared with before.

Cons

I interviewed with the boss twice. Although the first interview did not leave a bad impression (nor was it particularly good), I was indeed somewhat confused. It was not until after the second interview that I had a clearer understanding of the company's needs and the position's role.

Remote work feels like it involves a lot of uncertainty, and I still have not been able to get a clear answer on this.

I am still waiting for notification after the interview. Seeing all the overwhelmingly negative reviews here, I wanted to share my thoughts. It seems that things may not be as bad as they appear, although I may have to join and see for myself.

Seemingly good product...

Cons

I don't know whether it's because the boss still doesn't understand what he actually needs, or because he is simply not good at communicating with people.

For now, skip this company during your job search. The way they jump from topic to topic has gone beyond all reason—don't lose both the lady and the army.

What they said was completely different from what was stated on 104, and they also didn't provide labor and health insurance. After I discovered this, I reported them to 104. The boss immediately called me, roaring and questioning whether I was the one who reported them. It was honestly ridiculous.

Pros

A completely 104-rated description of a rule-defying, painful management system—truly the best choice for job seekers~ haha

Cons

Because with remote work, it feels like the boss often disappears. It’s the one-way communication mentioned earlier! You don’t actually need a permanent office either; if the working environment provided is poor, you still have to go out and spend money on transportation. They call it “flexible,” but in reality there’s no respect and no system. Anyway, in the vast online world, you can’t find anyone? It really seems like an invisible scam company.

1. During the interview, they will paint you a very rosy picture of the future.

2. They say communication is important, but you cannot feel where or why it is important.

3. When you use your expertise to complete the work, there is ultimately no feedback at all.

I suggest keeping your eyes wide open and looking for a company with normal systems and procedures.

Looking at some of the comments below, it is obvious that they are artificially generating positive reviews.

I used to work in sales here. After leaving, I stayed in touch with the boss. Recently, there happened to be a project related to the beauty industry, so I thought I would contact my former boss. The project was completed successfully, and it was only during this period that I learned how much the company had changed compared with when I worked here three years ago. We then talked about future development and opportunities, which was the main reason I returned to the company for the first time.

I think the advantages are that performance is gradually growing, which benefits the team. With more colleagues, we have more capacity and resources to get things done. There are also company dinners, transportation subsidies, and other benefits that were not available before.

Cons

Communication may need to be clearer and more explicit; after all, every problem is ultimately a people problem.

Can work from home??

Cons

It seems difficult to distinguish genuine comments from fake ones on this board.

During the interview, I heard that there was only one employee in Australia working in business development.

But the IP addresses of the positive comments on this board are almost all in Australia. Did everyone somehow agree to use a VPN and choose Australia?

IP 147.10.141.220 posted three times (2020/3/1) (2020/3/16) (2020/6/4).

The most recent post (2020/6/4) said: I interviewed for a marketing position, just graduated, and have creative ideas.

However, IP 147.10.141.220 also posted three times on the casual discussion board, including a post on (2020/5/13) saying that they were a sales manager named Steve.

So which is it—marketing or sales? A manager who just graduated?

Those comments from Australian IP addresses:

I’m in sales. There are salespeople in the north, central, and south, so we can support and discuss things with one another, which is great. Some expenses are also subsidized. What I’m lacking is resources in the beauty industry, so I need to spend more time on that.

Cons

There is no office, but it seems salespeople don’t really need one.

Personally, I feel the challenge is figuring out how to break into the beauty industry; I’ll have to think about it.

I’m a designer and really need work for my portfolio. Besides graphic and copy design, I also get to participate in designing presentations, apps, and websites here. I’ve been learning continuously in a short period of time, and have been able to complete all the work requirements smoothly. I’m lucky to grow together with everyone without letting the company down, haha.

Cons

There are simply a lot of tasks. Internet companies all seem to be like this—they require things to be presented promptly. Fortunately, I don’t have family responsibilities, so consider your own situation before deciding whether to come for an interview.

2. The interview was held at Starbucks because there is no office…

Cons

1. The company’s registered address is a residential apartment.

2. When inviting me to the interview, the boss even misremembered and thought the location had been mentioned…

3. He was completely inattentive during the interview and was often interrupted…

4. He doesn’t understand marketing himself, yet pretends to be good at and knowledgeable about everything…

5. He will ask for solutions to the current business situation… Don’t think you’re being clever and answer, because he actually doesn’t understand. He’ll only say: “I can’t hear the highlights or the logic” 😂

The company’s owner invited me to an interview at Starbucks. One thing I really admire is that the entire team works fully in the cloud. In the midst of the serious pandemic, this is truly quite forward-thinking. After learning about its current operations, I feel that the team management must have something exceptional about it. I imagine that anyone willing to join must share the same character traits. What a wonderfully happy company.

Cons

A results-based responsibility system. I’m actually very afraid of companies with this kind of system—I wonder whether, if something goes wrong, everyone will push the responsibility onto one another!!

I interviewed with several internet companies before the Lunar New Year, and this one seems to have been hiring quite a few people recently. It offers a high degree of autonomy, flexible working hours, above-average salary and benefits, and a promising industry outlook. It’s suitable for young people who want to work hard and strive for success.

Cons

They’ll probably need an office in the future, haha.

Pros

The compensation-related benefits include a monthly salary, project-based teaching bonuses, and performance-based profit-sharing bonuses. With about 70% effort, you should be able to earn a pretty good income; if fully booked, you should be able to afford a new car on installments, haha. Those who prefer an entrepreneurial approach can also discuss equity, but that varies from person to person and depends on your plans. Other than that, I think everything is fine and there are no major issues—if you have the ability, you can do it all.

Cons

Remote work, very demanding, and a small company—the pros and cons are relative, so judge for yourself.

I’ve been observing this company for a while. Compared with the hierarchical mindset of large, traditional companies, I personally really like this kind of startup, and I also think its development is on the right track. I highly recommend it to job seekers who enjoy engaging with the beauty industry.

Cons

You need to be very good at managing yourself; otherwise, the boss will probably keep a very close eye on you.

Pros

I previously interned at this company. The boss is very welcoming to interns and also works with my department at school to provide job opportunities. When I first joined, I found that the company members were all very young, but their division of responsibilities and level of professionalism were beyond what I currently possess. Although they are distributed across different regions, communication and coordination through LINE and Facebook work very well. I need to manage my time well and proactively ask questions and communicate with colleagues in the group. Using various social tools makes project management very convenient. I learned many professional skills in the information technology field and will introduce the company to my junior schoolmates in the future. After graduation, if there are relevant job openings, I would like to join this team for the long term.

Cons

I feel that this way of working challenges humanity’s greatest weakness: laziness! I also constantly remind myself to be proactive and take initiative.

Everything else is fine.

More than a year ago, I still remember meeting the boss for the first time. I said that this system was great and that next year I wanted to take it to Australia to promote it. He looked at me with a deeply worried expression.......... Now, as I leave this message, I am in Australia promoting this system and have acquired our first customer. For anyone who dreams of starting a business, it must be very difficult to find another boss and team who believe in you, support you, and are willing to keep working together with you.

Watching the company’s performance continue to grow and seeing more and more vendors and customers recognize us, the team’s industry expertise, efficient consulting, and systematic operations provide beauty-industry clients and shop owners with real benefits and peace of mind. This is the mission and responsibility of IT professionals. We are not only moving our systems to the cloud; our operating model is also cloud-based.

Now, we have moved beyond Taiwan and entered our first overseas country as part of our global expansion. Behind this effort is an entire team working seamlessly together and contributing selflessly. Please continue to follow us. How far we can go also represents Taiwan’s software capabilities, and I believe more Taiwanese software companies will move into Australia in the future.

If you think we are good, you are welcome to join us and work together to move toward the global market.

Cons

The waters run deep.

~ They really do. What this actually means is that the nuances and unique aspects of this industry differ from those of other industries.

~ For anything you have never done before, you should still try to learn about it and experience it while you are young.

Long working hours.

~ Like a convenience store. What this actually refers to is the complementary roles played by the entire team—from partners, sales, and technical customer service to R&D.

~ Plan your own schedule, complement one another through professional teamwork, propose your own ideas, and integrate resources.

Selling grand visions.

~ Some people need to be given a vision. What this actually means is finding business partners and resource partners.

~ Experience, resources, revenue, and wealth all accumulate over time—and businesses need this even more.

If you think we are not good, you are welcome to join us and work together to change corporate culture and the structure of the industry.

I can’t think of anything, no matter how hard I try.

Cons

During the interview, they shower you with grand promises but do not explain the company’s policies or benefits in detail. They only ask whether you are interested in working together and go on and on. The working hours they describe have nothing to do with reality—it is basically nonsense. They expect you to be on call 24/7, emphasizing communication while completely disregarding your family and personal life; they expect to be able to reach you whenever they need you. They use outdated products and technologies, have no expertise in current mainstream practices, yet still think their own work is impressive. They also plan to do this and that, and are very good at feeling pleased with themselves.

The company really just wants to hire disposable workers at extremely low cost. After you have likely been busy with a pile of work, they may end up giving you nothing.

Pros

After the interview, you gain a deeper understanding of what a nano (small-to-medium?) declining company and its exploitative boss look like. It also gives you a profound appreciation of the disaster you invite when you fail to do thorough pre-interview research and end up at a company with extremely low capital: you should be prepared to become a free punching bag for the venting and emotional catharsis of low-level salespeople with terrible character.

Cons

Don’t even mention an optimistic attitude or ease of communication when interviewing with this mysterious, novel, yet rigid and demanding company—the interviewer’s reasoning was even more sinister than Sinister Shopping. The so-called communication was one-sided from beginning to end: he just talked for his own enjoyment, bragging and running his mouth. To satisfy his terrifying, black-hole-like inferiority complex, he arrogantly expressed contempt for and rejection of the plastic-surgery counter staff who had refused his business development, saying that all service-industry counter workers were poorly educated, lacking in character, lazy, inferior people who were incapable of using or learning the system he had developed.

When it came to the base salary, he only dared lower his head and quietly say 20,000, then boldly claimed that the base salary paid at the end of last year was 30,000. Yes, you read that correctly: the current base salary is an even crazier and more uninhibited 20,000—lower than 22K. When I asked questions about the job duties, he could only answer that this couldn’t be done, that couldn’t be done, that it was too difficult, or that it was impossible—in other words, zero business fundamentals and social experience, at the level of an engineering-obsessed shut-in. Then he frantically used direct-sales-style brainwashing to tell me that it was 50% with no base salary and 30% with a base salary. Not only did he want free labor, he also wanted to impose a future “floating” KPI tailored to the individual (in preparation for deducting performance pay). Whenever I mentioned a base-salary plan, he would immediately change his expression and become impatient, darkly repeating his boastful line that every newcomer goes three months without results. His EQ was so low that even a middle-school student would be amazed. I should also mention that, in his eyes, sales was an even more contemptible job than engineering: both had zero base salary, but salespeople would not receive any allocated shares—shares that might be worth about as much as wallpaper.

When I asked whether there were senior colleagues in the sales department to provide guidance, he started making things up, saying that some had gone to develop international markets for the company: one salesperson in Taichung, one in Kaohsiung, one in Australia, and two in Taipei, with one of them developing the Japanese market. So I asked, “Then what about the other person in the Taipei sales department?” He silently and solemnly pointed to himself. At the time, I was extremely shocked and realized that something was seriously wrong, but I thought, “It’s a startup—perhaps everything can be excused.” Yet he arrogantly claimed that the company had stable revenue-generating projects, so it currently did not lack salespeople; sales staff were optional, with an expression that said, “You beg me. Come on, beg me to give you a job.”

(Afterward, I checked with the Department of Commerce: the approved establishment date was July 14, 2011. Eight years! The capital had been there for eight years too.)

When he repeated his boastful rant for the third round with a dark expression, I could no longer stand his nagging, sarcastic chatter. I compromised and said I would consider working without pay to build up performance. Yet his massive inferiority-complex breakdown still would not let me go. Like a rural auntie, he continued to prattle on about how arduous and difficult it was: “You know how hard it is, right? I often get rejected. Are you sure you want to do this? Can you really do it? Are you up to it?” One question from me—“If business development were easy, why would you need me to do it? (smile)”—instantly made this lone operator wilt, lose focus, and collapse.

Then this commander-in-chief without an army suddenly became as weak as a deflated balloon. It was obvious that he had no appointment and had improvised one, then self-destructed and prepared to flee in shame. I had absolutely no intention of mocking him; at the time, I had not realized that his EQ was so extremely low that he could shatter from the slightest trigger. I even asked, “So, did I pass the interview? If so, when should I start learning the system and business development?” He replied, “We’ll let you know. Are you sure you want to do it?” I answered, “Yes, I’m absolutely confident that I can handle this sales position.” He then said, “Okay, come to the company in a few days to report.” (※I still hadn’t realized that his fragile ego was exploding.) At the bottom of the café stairs, he suddenly turned around and looked at me with grief, resentment, and anger. As he walked away, he used a deeply wounded yet hostile gaze and repeatedly emphasized, in an A-Q-style attempt to patch up his shattered ego, “Our company has a strong niche! Our company is extremely forward-looking!”

After he left, every customer at the neighboring tables was discussing how hilarious his low-EQ meltdown had been. I felt extremely embarrassed and ashamed. How had I ended up interviewing with such an insecure, cowardly, vulgar company? After that, I continued interviewing with reputable companies, systematically scheduling appointments and thoroughly checking Department of Commerce records, Google information, PTT, external templates, and numerous web sources.

About a week after the interview, I had more or less decided where I wanted to go. I messaged him asking him to please confirm whether the position was still available. (Read.) Three days later, he replied and began another round of auntie-style nagging. I answered that I could do it and had relevant experience.

However, another week passed. I had already confirmed offers from several companies through different recruiting websites, while I was preparing to decide among several others after completing their interviews. So, foolishly, I messaged him again to ask whether they had decided not to hire me. (Read, then two days later.) He replied, “Yes, sorry.”

Are you kidding me? I immediately gave him a profanity-free account of my impression of the interview and blocked him. I wasn’t there to provide him with free verbal punching-bag therapy.

Afterward, he frantically harassed me late at night through the recruitment website’s mailbox, even threatening to find a lawyer and sue me.

You want to go to court and bang your head against the north wall? I’d like to see whether your head is hard enough. Within the law or outside it, I can teach you how to shut down.

They keep changing what they say—for example, they might tell you today that tomorrow is a day off, but then call you in tomorrow.

24-hour on-call, so you will never really have a holiday.
