The restaurant publicly claims that its ingredients are organic and that it is a whole-food restaurant, but there is a gap between this claim and reality. Its actual practices do not align with the principles presented in its advertising and publicity. In fact, all ingredients are sourced through food suppliers rather than from quality organic farms that grow the produce, and the soy milk is purchased directly in bottles. Nevertheless, the marketing and packaging particularly emphasize the organic or whole-food aspects. If you are considering joining with idealistic expectations, evaluate the situation carefully.
The management of compensation, promotions, and performance evaluations needs improvement. Professionals joining the company will need time to adapt, and many standards are applied inconsistently. Those with a spirit of challenge may want to try changing things, but the situation should still be assessed carefully.
Regarding vertical and horizontal communication: horizontal communication is generally not characterized by much workplace negativity. In vertical communication, from management downward, people express their own opinions—do the work you are paid for and do not be overly enthusiastic. From employees upward, the attitude is “let’s see,” or “let’s observe a little longer”; when there is no other option, it is still “let’s see.” It is a natural-selection-like survival environment.

It’s outrageous. They keep saying that they only use organic ingredients, but they actually order their vegetables from a regular produce supplier. They even offer classes and say, “We use only organic beets,” when in fact they just order from a regular produce supplier. Organic soy milk? It’s simply I-Mei unsweetened soy milk. It’s too outrageous. They also talk about their principles, but when an employee reportedly pointed this out, the response was, “If I didn’t lie like this, how would I support you?”
I also heard that on an employee’s last day before leaving, the boss said, “Today is your last day, huh? Let me see how much you’re worth today.” That’s simply unbelievable... Do not come work here under any circumstances.
